I have an older build with a ASRock Z87 Killer motherboard. My GTX 970 stopped working with it. After installation it will function for a few minutes before shutting down. The fan on the GPU spins loudly and the display goes blank. I thought this was a GPU issue so I bought a GTX 1660 SC Ultra but I'm having the same problem. After installing it works for a little while then it starts blowing out and dies. So now I'm thinking it's a motherboard issue. Maybe a BIOS setting? But I'm not sure what to look for. Does anyone have any ideas? This has been frustrating me for quite awhile now.

Thanks for any help!

So the system is working with the integrated graphics?
If so, it could be your PSU is failing. More often than not, when something just
stops working in a system that has been working fine for a long time, it's the PSU.
If you can, try with a different PSU and see if that resolves your issue.
