Hi,

Im trying to learn about the fastest configuration for the ASRock 970m pro3 motherboard. I have the AMD FX-6350 CPU and the DDR3 Kingston RAM.

Is this correct? What can I do to get the fastest configuration

Thankful for replies

the question isnt really very clear

if you mean whats the best cpu/ram for this board

then id say the 8350 and at least 2x8gb 1866 ram

you should be able to overclock the ram a bit

i know i could get 2400mhz ram to work in my old asus m5evo board with fx cpus

Fastest configuration would be to sell it and get AM4/Ryzen/DDR4 ... if you want to stay with AMD

..or get the FX 8350 or 8370 like mentioned above .. 4 x 8GB sticks of 1866 up to 2400 , like mentioned above .. and at least 1 SSD drive for the OS.

threedee

the asrock boards tend to get upset with 4 sticks of ram and revert back to 1600mhz

weve had quite a low of guys moaning they cant get 4 sticks to work at the 1866 fx cpu guideline

but your first point was quite valid
its time if your spending money to get on am4 platform

Ah ... wasn't aware of that .. it's kind of like my Wife's 2200G chip .. would not run stable with 4 sticks no matter what the speed. Updated her to a 3400g and now she can run same 4 sticks at 3200mhz without issue. (this is on an ASUS B350 Prime)

no problem mate didnt want to sound sh1tty

its just for some reason the asrock boards tend to not like going over amd defauklt speeds with 4 sticks

so drop down to the amd 1600 mhz default
