I am confused about processor types... What CPU types can Asrock 775dual-vsta run? I only know conroe, prescott, smithfield and presler. What is less power consuming? And generates less heat?

And can Asrock 775dual-vsta run 1066MHz FSB dual core xeon?? Sometimes i can find old xeons more cheaper than Core 2 duo and core quad.

It does not officially support Xeon CPUs, from what I have seen using a Xeon, which is a socket 771 CPU, on a socket 775 motherboard requires a pin mod and only works on certain boards. The mod is fairly popular as it allows for more potent CPUs to be used on the socket 775 platform however there are a lot of variables and knowing what boards will work with this mod is going to require you to do some research. http://www.overclock.net/t/1431723/mod-lga775-support-for-lga771-xeon-cpus" rel="nofollow - Here is a thread on the process but I did not see your board listed as compatible, I did not see it listed as incompatible either however.

I would do some research on the matter if I were you. If you find evidence to support the mod working on your board then it would be a very significant upgrade over any socket 775 CPU. You can purchase the pin mod stickers on Ebay.

Now it goes without saying that this mod is not sanctioned or supported by ASRock in any way and will void any Warranty on the motherboard as it will need to be physically modified. Go ahead at your own risk.
