Hey everyone, I recently built my first PC. My specs are CPU: i3-9100f MOBO: B365M Phantom Gaming 4 GPU: MSI Ventus XS OC Edition GTX 1650 Super RAM: 2x8gb OLOy Warhawk RGB PSU: Thermaltake Smart 430w 80+ Case (if this matters): Musetex Phantom (comes with 6 preinstalled rgb fans and controller) Here's my problem: Whenever I turn on my PSU, my motherboard just flashes red. When I try to boot, nothing. None of the 6 case fans power up, nor the gpu, and cpu fan. I am 100% certain that I put all cables and wires in the right slots and they were firmly connected. My brother, who has been building computers for a while now, tried everything he knew, clearing cmos, jumping the motherboard, reconnecting stuff, but nothing worked. There is a chance I possibly screwed up along the way while building this PC, however I don't know exactly what I screwed up on. Any help would be appreciated. |

Dear NoName76, Thank you for posting your query to the ASRock forum. Kindly try the suggestions below: 1. Install only one RAM to different slots. 2. Reinstall the CPU. 3. Check if power supply wattage is sufficient for the system and re-plug the power supply to the motherboard. 4. Remove everything from the system, except for CPU/CPU fan/one RAM/graphics card. So when you press the power button nothing happens at all? The board lights up so it's getting power, double check to make sure the Clear CMOS jumper is not set to the clear position (this will not allow the system to power on). Make sure you have your power switch connected to the correct pins on the front IO header, check your manual to be sure. If neither of the above help, you may have incorrectly installed the CPU. Remove it and check for bent pins in the socket or dirty contact pads on the CPU itself. -------------

Hey guys, The post status checker light also doesn't diagnose anything wrong with the PC. I tried all the suggestions and my brother was suggesting that I shorted something in the PC, since I built the PC in a room that has carpet. He was talking about static electricity, and although I built it on a large piece of cardboard placed on my bed, it might have been enough to short something. He also said that since my feet were in contact with carpet, it was able to transmit electricity through my hands. I apologize if I sound like an absolute noob. |

| I just did that, but no luck. Is it possibly a faulty motherboard or cpu? When I ran all of my parts through PCPartPicker, it showed 259w for wattage, so I'm not sure if it is my PSU either. Could it also be my ram? |

| Also my bad, I should've reworded my last, last post. The post status checker lights do not come on at all, but the motherboard light will, only showing the breathing/flashing red lights like I had described. |

| I think I might have found the solution. The ram I had bought is ddr4-3200, and the DIMM slots on the b365m phantom require ddr4-2666, 2400, or 2166. I will be returning the ram and replacing it with 2666 MHz sticks. |

| Hey guys, I tried using new ram, which was Corsair vengeance 16 gb, 2666 MHz. However, this didn't end up solving my problem. My motherboard still has a breathing red type of effect. I'm not sure if it's a post status check code or not. None of the post status check lights come on to show me what is wrong with my motherboard. Is it possible that I have a faulty motherboard or shorted something on it? |

| I have a similar problem, when i turn on my pc, i can?™t use the usb ports or any ports on the motherboard, but i can use my LED Light Room strips that also uses USB Port. I switched and tried all USB ports for the LED and it worked, but not my Keyboard, Mouse or anything. The red light that shows up is under the ?œDRAM??Section. Need Help |
