hello
i have a question about the Fatal1ty X99X Killer mainboard.
On the asrock site the specs are showing that this motherboard supports ramm up to 3000+ mhz.
http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20X99X%20Killer/" rel="nofollow - http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty X99X Killer/

On the other site it says that the Fatal1ty X99X Killer 3.1 supports ramm up to 3200 mhz.
http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20X99X%20Killer3.1/" rel="nofollow - http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20X99X%20Killer3.1/

I got G.Skill DIMM 16GB DDR4-3200 (F4-3200C16D-16GVK) and now iam worried if i can use the full 3200mhz on the none 3.1?
Is there really a hardware difference between this two boards? or the specifications of the none 3.1 are just outdated?
Can i use my ramms on full speed 3200mhz on this board or i need to get that 3.1 board?

any helpfull information would be nice, because i want to buy this board as soon as possible and the 3.1 is abit to much expesive here.

The only way to know is to try setting XMP and seeing what happens. If you are on the latest bios revision then it may be able to handle the 3200 frequency but I can't say for sure.

If someone else has the board in question and has used 3200 RAM on it then they will be able to tell you for sure, short of that you will have to try it out as I said.

I do not have the MB.

As it is mostly CPU(IMC) dependent, does your present 2011-3 processor run 3200 with this memory?

I would say if they both run at 3200 now, doing so on a different board wouldn't be an issue.

Keep in mind, the X99X Killer has been around for appx a year and a half, at the relative infancy of DDR4.

3000 may well have been the fastest when those specs for the board were written. Too I see a very new BETA BIOS that includes RAM Compatibility.

I'll add too, you should flash to the most recent BIOS available prior to changing out the current memory for these 3200.

Seen the above posted recently huh?
