TL;DR: I upgraded BIOS to ver 2.00 and the motherboard suddenly cannot recognize DRAM slot A1,A2 anymore.

Details:
I got this x299 gaming k6 motherboard two years ago with a i7-7820x. I also bought 8 G.Skill 8GB DIMM sticks and plugged them into the 8 memory slots on the motherboard to get quad-channel memory bandwidth. It worked fine.

Until today when I decided to upgrade to i9-10920x. First, I replaced the old CPU with the newly bought i9-10920x and got an error code of 0xdf. After some searching I realized the BIOS is not updated to support cascade lake-x, so I downloaded and flashed the newest BIOS firmware (ver 2.00) onto the motherboard. After this I could enter the ASRock BIOS setup page for the first time. However, the page shows that the motherboard could only recognize 6 DIMM on B1/2, C1/2, D1/2.

In suspicion of the new CPU being dysfunctional, I removed the i9 and placed the old i7 back, but the BIOS still couldn't recognized A1/2 slots. OS says there's only 48GB of memory as well. I cleared CMOS multiple times, doesn't work. I tried removing all memory modules but the one in slot A2, and then the computer wouldn't boot or enter into BIOS page. The motherboard showed an error code of 0x53, which corresponds to memory-related problems according to the manual.

Has anyone experience the similar issue after upgrading to BIOS ver 2.00? Is my motherboard broken?
