Hello all,
I recently took out my CPU on a build I put together a couple years ago to reapply some thermal paste. After reassembling my PC would no longer post/boot.
I've found that the PC will NOT boot if I have each ram slot occupied. I've done some testing and found that each ram module is in fact working and the PC will boot with each ram module as long as the 3rd and 4th slot (rightmost side) are not occupied.
Things were working just fine yesterday. Does anyone have any ideas? I've re-seated the RAM modules multiple times, tried rotating them out, no cigar.

Dear Seanop,
Resetting any memory modules might cause the dust to go into the memory slot which can result in the system not able to boot properly.
Try cleaning the memory modules' gold finger with the eraser.
Also, please try:
1. Clear CMOS. (Refer to page.20 in the following link to clear CMOS.)

2. Try blowing the air via the memory slots to see if it will work.
If it still will not work, CPU pins might be another reason that is causing this.
Try resetting the CPU to see if it will work.

Howdy! After hours of trouble shooting I finally decided to just do a full breakdown. I reset CMOS, blew out DIMM slots, and used a toothpick to snag a tiny dust bunny from the CPU socket.(I believe this was the main thing causing the error).
I'm sorry to waste your time but I hope this might help anyone else that has the same issue. The dust made it's way into the socket when I took out my CPU to apply new thermal paste.
