Hey all
I have had this board for a few months and i notice every few weeks that it starts, the fans run high for a minute and then it drops fro 3600mhz down to 2800mhz ram. I have Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK64GX4M2D3600C18 2x32GB
And have it set with the xmp profile in the bios to 3600mhz but occasionally its dropping its speed down.
Any ideas? I dont have any clue about memory timings, so wondering if there are any tweaks i can do.
Thanks

it does sound like your having an intermitant 'cold boot' fail
e.g. the system cant initilise the ram from a cold start with the lower voltages so resets bios to defaults (allthough im sure it sould reset to 2666 jedec or the older 2133 speeds depending on your ram)
whats actually happening in the background is ...........
the ram suggests its xmp profile to the bios say 3600mhz cl18/18/18 etc at 1.35 volts the motherboard tries to 'guess' the secondary timings (there really is quite a few to set) and it all goes tits-up
the fix ? maybe a later more polished bios maybe manually entering the ram timings to be more suited to ryzen
or maybe both
32gb sticks are a pain in the butt to get running at 3600mhz even more so with corsairs not so great ram sticks to be honest
you must have a third gen ryzen cpu im guessing as i highly doubt you would even get a boot on 2nd or first gen

Thanks Both
I`m trying the latest bios v3.00, the cpu is AMD Ryzen 9 3950X. Its only been a day so may take a week or so to show up if its made a difference.

Unfortunately its dropped back down the ram speed again today, so no difference in bios. Could it be the ram being incompatible perhaps, or any settings i could tweak in the bios? thanks

You can try upping the voltage to your memory .. first off, it should be at 1.35v from XMP settings.. if it's defaulting to 1.2v, then there is probably your problem .. but if it is staying at 1.35v, then up it to like 1.375 and see if that helps .. I've read in other forums about Corsair sometimes needing a little more juice to keep them stable..
something to try if you want
