I built a new system with the following components from Newegg. All are new except for the GTX780 video, which was used in my Win7 system and always worked fine. I am getting Blue Screens about once a day, usually while playing WOW - once doing a backup copy. I am looking for a suggestions for a procedure to identify the problem.
This is a fresh install of Windows 10 professional via a USB download from Microsoft. I installed it on the Samsung 950 M.2 SSD in UEFI mode. I disabled the Killer Ethernet in Bios and deinstalled the drivers because I thought that was the issue, but it did not stop the BSODs. The mobo Bios is at 1.90. I think I have all the hardware drivers up to date - the ones I checked again are listed below next to the hw. Thanks in advance for your help!

Corsair does certify the CMK32GX4M4A2400C14R to work on this motherboard.
First thing I'll inquire of is if you've flashed to the latest NON-BETA production BIOS available? As the X99 is a new chipset and with new variants of DDR4 coming onto the market manufacturers have been on a steady pattern of releasing new BIOS to tackles this issue.
Unfortunately, those errors look to me and my experience building as memory related. My guess by seeing the likes myself, this doesn't mean 100% positive here in your/this instance though.
Get her running the latest BIOS first. This alone may prove the simple and easy way.
Failing the latest BIOS, get MemTest86+ http://www.memtest.org/" rel="nofollow - HERE and run it for 6-7 complete passes to determine if any tweaks you've made are stable on her.

I am inclined to agree with Wardog here, memory compatibility seems a likely culprit so grabbing the latest BIOS may resolve that. If that fails you can try using 1 module of RAM and check with memtest and for BSODs, if clear keep adding the RAM one module at a time and testing until you have all 4 installed or you run into a BSOD/memtest errors. You may have a bad module or a kit that does not operate in quad channel correctly. Additionally, ensure your RAM is seated properly.
Now if the RAM comes up clear try uninstall your GPU driver using http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html" rel="nofollow - DDU from safe mode then install the latest driver again. NTOSKRNL errors can be caused by display drivers, especially if you updated them and they failed to uninstall the old ones correctly.

Thanks much for the suggestion! I did have the latest 1.90 Bios, but it looks like the 2.10 bios has gone Production a few days ago. I will give it a try and see how it goes, and then work on the memory. I remember having some strange problems that were fixed permanently by reseating the memory, too, although that was a machine exposed to fluctuating outdoor temperatures.

Brief update: - Upgraded to 2.1 BIOS. Got the same BSOD later that day. - Downloaded Prime95 and ran it for 20 minutes of so to load CPU 100%. System ran nice and cool and no errors or problems. - Downloaded PassMark MemTest86, installed to USB stick, and ran default. Got a single error after about 15 minutes of running. Stopped the test, checked options, which made me realize I better just use the default test regimen. Restarted for a longer test to see if I could determine location etc of errors. Over the next few days, I ran several hours of mem tests - trying new cold boots, etc, but could not get a single error to reappear.
Question for the group: I don't like seeing even ONE memory error, but how many hours of running memtest do you need to decide if that one error was a cosmic ray hit or some other fluke?
Future tests: - removed data SSD, backup SSD, all USB devices except Mouse and Keyboard. - continued testing bare machine to see if any BSODs appear - if I get a BSOD, I may remove the M.2 pciE drive and boot to a Sata SSD to eliminate it
While I wait: - Evaluate every hardware driver and make sure it is current with no documented issues

I believe the standard test will do four full passes and I think that's what you should go for, especially since you already got one error. It may take ages, though. With my two sticks and 16 GB of RAM it took nearly 40 hours to finish all four passes. It will also look like it's stuck, as it may not show any progress for 6 hours or more, but as long as the symbols for the CPU cores keep spinning, it's still working through the tests.

Did you find any errors after 40 hours? My BSODs usually show up within 4-5 hours of running, sometimes within a few minutes of startup. So I thought 4 or 5 hours of continuous memory tests with no errors would clear the memory.
But it only takes time so I will let it run all the way next time. I know I made it to the 4th pass but I don't think it completed all the way.

Update:
I removed all the devices, even the CDROM, except for the SSD, the Video card, keyboard and mouse. I removed the M.2 PCIE Samsung SSD and installed only a single 500G SATA SSD. Reseated the memory sticks. I used diskpart to clean the SSD and installed a fresh Win 10 Pro on it in UEFI mode. Install went well, so I updated the drivers, triple checking only those from the ASROCK website. I updated the drivers for Nvidia card with the recommended dec 2015 drivers. I installed minimal apps - Chrome and World of Warcraft (great test case) Played WOW last night for about 3 hours with no issues. Booted machine today, did a couple of web browses and got a BSOD.
Problem is stil there. I will do an extended memory test but am beginning to think I have an unstable motherboard.
The Nvidia card has been working in another machine for over 6 months with no problems.
I will update after memtest completes 4 full passes.

Too, in just now going back over the thread, check what your GPU temps are. This will also show its ugly head if the GPUs thermal paste has dried out some and now letting the card get warm/hot.
Reading over your posts with your writing style I assume the machine has been cleaned and now free of dust. But I'll ask anyways, no harm no foul in asking, right?

I appreciate all input. The gear is all new - no dust, except a bit on the reused video card, which was blown off.
I see the GPU temps do go up when I run WOW. I installed one of those apps that show it and the CPU temp continuously on a little bar graph, which I run on a second monitor. I am trying to remember the number I reach on the GPU - maybe 75C, or maybe 80C? Whatever it was, as soon as I started playing the game it went right up to that temp and then was a level line. I think the card prevents it from getting any higher by limiting the work it does, but I am not a GPU expert. The card worked in my Windows 7 machine for over 6 months, but this has a faster CPU so are you thinking that maybe it makes the card run faster/hotter? I am running a full 4 pass memtest, so I can't check right now. Could a hot video card cause a 'IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL' BSOD do you think?

And that review, while dated now, was with an i7-3960X on a superb EVGA X79 SLI motherboard. No slouching there, that system didn't hamper the card in anyway.
I am not a GPU expert either, your old motherboard and CPU was "older', without knowing what you had previously.
I don't understand bottlenecking, yet I can not believe for one second the current system it's in would be a bottleneck to it.
Anyone???? I haven't a clue.
Does bottlenecking cause the card to physically slow itself in recognition of it being hampered by a/the lowered bus throughput? On whatever the OPs prior system was.

No, bottlenecking will not cause the GPU to alter it's clocks in any way. The bottleneck occurs when the GPU is starved for data by an inadequate CPU or PCIe bandwidth, this results in stutter and spike behavior. Until fairly recently reviews did not even test for this. Quite often you will see a higher average FPS and a stupidly high maximum FPS when a bottleneck is present but the minimum FPS will be very low and occur frequently. The result, despite the highish average will be very choppy gameplay with loads of stutter. The high FPS spikes will occur immediately after a stall as the CPU suddenly dumps a load of frame data onto the GPU which up till that moment was idling waiting for data. I suppose depending on how long the GPU was starved for data it may briefly lower it's clocks a performance level but it would be for no more than a second or so, not enough to significantly affect thermals.
There is also no way that CPU would bottleneck a GTX 780 and no way the GPU should be running hotter on the new system unless there is some kind of issue.
Is the BSOD the only error you are getting Franco? Do you get any "the display driver has stopped responding and been recovered" messages? This is usually the message you would get if the GPU is broken, defective or the driver is bad.
IRQ not less or equal messages are usually memory or hard disk related so it may be worth while reseating your CPU an checking for bent/misaligned pins while you are at it. I have seen quite a few issues on X99 platforms that were resolved by reseating the CPU. Make sure your CPU cooler is not installed so tightly that it is causing the pins to miss-align.

I looked up question on GPU temps.

So I think I am ok, although I can check again after the memory test. Looks like 4 hours per Pass, btw, and I am only through the first pass (with no errors yet)

I think I will try a CPU-reseat. The cooler is that Noctua D16 and is bigger and heaver than any I have ever used. On the question of other errors - no - there has not been a single hiccup on video errors or anything else. The installs have been clean and error-free, especially since I have done three separate clean Windows 10 pro installs on this system.

No, not a single one. It still doesn't mean a 100% certainty my memory is okay, but since this is just my personal computer I at the moment use for random stuff, there's really no point in running the test for weeks.

Unfortunately it doesn't quite work that way. If the error is intermittent, then it may in principle take anything between a few seconds to several days (maybe even longer) for it to occur, depending on the severity of the issue.

You can also run more than four passes if you want. The more passes you run, the larger the chance to encounter an intermittent error. The fact that you have already seen an error once should mean you had an issue with your memory and the persistence of the BSODs is in my opinion a sign that the issue hasn't really gone anywhere. By the way, what was that single error you encountered the first time you ran MemTest86? I'm not sure if MemTest86 overwrites the logs it creates on the bootable USB, but if it doesn't, you should be able to find the logfiles on the USB stick and see what the error was.

Update: Just finished full cycle of 4 passes in a little over 23 hours of continuous running. No errors were found. This is with all 4 sticks in place - 32G total. Frank

Frank, do you have a 4-pin molex plugged into the motherboards PCIE_PWR1 ? That might be advisable to try plugging one in there before re-seating the processor.

Wardog, I could plug in the PCIe power - I did not do that since I have only the one card and the manual describes using it for '3 or more graphic cards'. What is your thinking on it? Lack of power causing some kind of instability resulting in the 'IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL' error? It is a bit of work, but I already have a couple of weeks of effort into this build already anyway.

Frank, I've seen stranger things be resolved with only plugging/powering this connection.
Everyone's system is different. Number of PCIe devices, how many "splits' off a PSU rail, and maybe to some extent the differences in PSU design and manufacturing.

The ASROCK guys recommended testing one memory stick at a time in memory Slot 1. To get this latest test done I have been running tests (well, playing a game, lol) almost continuously with time off for eating, sleeping, and an occasional movie since Thursday at 9 am, and it is now Monday at 4 pm. Good thing I am retired!!
So I did not plug in that PCIE power plug yet - I did not want to change two things at once.
The results: With just a single memory stick plugged in, I cannot get the BSOD to come back no matter what I do. I tried each of the 4 sticks, one at a time, as recommended, with no other changes since I got 2 BSODs with all 4 in place. (One before and one after removing and reinserting all the memory).
ASROCK support said that if I passed this test, I should send the motherboard back for replacement, and I think that makes sense.
If you guys have any other thoughts, please share them soon, since I need to get the board back.

Bummer. Got a replacement motherboard and ran it for two days, and just got my first BSOD. Same error - IRQL NOT LESS THAN OR EQUAL. This is driving me bonkers. I am not a PC tech, but I have build dozens of systems and NEVER had any problems like this.
I think I might go with an ASUS motherboard (cheaper option), or try a new CPU (ouch). I need to replace things - I am tired of testing. It should not take 2 months to get a new system up and running, should it?

I told Corsair about a single error I saw, and could not repeat, on Memtest86 and they promptly sent out new memory. I have been running it two days and so far so good. It is hard to believe that this is a memory problem, because of my extensive testing, but it may turn out to be after all.
I will continue to run the system and see what happens. Frank
