Currently have a Asrock B550 Phantom gaming 4 a/c mother board and have updated the bios to the most UpToDate version 1.2. But my 4 x 8GB Corsair vengeance rgb pro 3600 speed won?�t let me over clock to the advertised speeds. Even after setting the profile. Please help.

Like myself, you should have checked the Memory QVL list for your MB before purchasing Corsair 3600 ram. Corsair 3600 ram is not on the compatibility list. I have the same exact ram as you, 4 sticks. Your MB and mine, the Phantom Gaming 4, will not run this ram at its XMP profile. It defaults to 2133 Mhz. I'm also using bios version 1.2.
The best I can do is to manually set it to 3200, timings 16,20,20,38,57, in the bios. Until Asrock supports this ram or updates the bios I'm stuck at 3200.

New bios, V1.4, out today for my B550 Phantom Gaming 4 MB.
Flashed it but still no love for my Corsair 3600 ram. Will not set its XMP profile to 3600. Best I can do is still 3200.

does it boot with XMP but just crashes sometime after that? ..or doesn't even boot? What I've read about Corsair, is that sometimes they require a little more voltage to be stable .. so you could set XMP and then manually bump the voltage from 1.35v to 1.36v up to 1.45v and see if it boots/is stable. Unless you just have a dud 3600 chip (memory controller on die).

If you get memory to work at XMP ..next step is to make sure your fclk (infinity fabric) is running same speed (coupled mode on) .. so memory runnin at at 3600, fclk = 1800

I have tried increasing the voltage up to 1.5V. Set infinity fabric to the same speed, 1800Mhz. No go. It boots when I set the ram's XMP to 3600, but like others, it defaults back to 2133Mhz. It could be the memory controller on my CPU but I don't think so. I have read on other forums that the Asrock B550 MBs do not like 3600 speed ram.
And I have already posted Corsair 3600 ram is NOT on Asrock's compatibility list for this MB.

to be honest
corsair spend too much money on product placement and retail shelf space and not enough on products r&d
corsair ram has never been the best choice by far for am4/ryzen
what is happening when you click xmp
is a JOINT problem between asrock bios AND corsairs SPD settings
its basically making a very poor choice of some of the timings auto selected in the bios secondary settings

you may have better luck manually setting ram timings using the ryzen dram calculator free software program (use google to find it)
but running 4 sticks at 3600mhz with corsair parts will be hard work
you should get 3200mhz working stable ,but maybe will have to manually tune a few settings there

my own opinion is and advice i give to others is to pay a bit more for gskill premium ram or as of late ive found the crucial ballistix to work without headaches on am4

To sum this up, in the other thread the OP was using G.Skill ram and was having the same problem as I am of not being able to set the XMP to 3600.

As I have already posted, when I MANUALLY set my my Corsair's ram XMP to 3600 and its timings to 18,22,22,42,64 it also reverts back to 2133Mhz.
The latest version, 1.7.3, of the Ryzen Ram Calculator needs to be updated. There is no option for the B550 MB.
The best I can do is 3200, 16,20,20,38,57,1T on my Corsair ram. Any higher with different timings and it defaults to 2133.

I did manage to get it to 3600 with 1 stick in slot A2. All 4 sticks passed Memtest 86, 4 passes, so the ram is good, but I got multiple BSODs in Windows 10 at 3600.
I have my Ryzen 5 3600 oc'ed to 4200 @1.2875vcore. It and the ram at 3200 is stress stable, Prime 95 and IntelBurn test. And yes my ram could not achieve 3600 with the cpu at default and oc'ed.

My advice, again, is to stay clear of Corsair 3600 ram if you have an Asrock B550 MB. The only reason I purchased it was because Newegg had it on sale for $60./pair(2x8gb).

Check the ram compatibility list for your MB before you purchase ram for it.

Last post on this subject. Flashed my MB to the latest bios V1.42 and no go on 3600Mhz with my ram, still at 3200Mhz. I have searched, Googled, for reviews on the Phantom Gaming 4 MB. Nothing. Closest I found is a review for the Phantom Gaming ITX/AX MB in which they used Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 3200MHz 2x8GB.

So I've come to the conclusion that the reason I can not set my ram's XMP to 3600Mhz is a combination of my cheapo Asrock MB, (paid $80. for it after rebates), the fact that the Ryzen 5 3000 CPUs according to their specs support ram only up to 3200MHz??, but mostly Corsair's Vengeance 3600Mhz ram not being compatible with my MB.

Still obsessing over trying to get my ram to run at its XMP profile of 3600Mhz on my B550 Phantom Gaming 4 MB. I posted the question over on the Reddit/Asrock forum, https://www.reddit.com/r/ASRock/, and got some good advice about changing other voltages and the ProcODT setting. I was able to get my MB to post and set the ram at 3600Mhz, but it was not stable. Things that I tried though may be useful to others with B550 MBs and 3600Mhz ram.

Used HWiNFO64 and AMD Ryzen Master for readouts.

1. I flashed the MB to bios 1.20. Left everything at default and set the ram to its XMP values, 3600Mhz, FCLK 1800, 1.35V, and timings to 18,22,22,42,64. It booted but it defaulted back to 2133Mhz. The SoC voltage was 1.200V. Bios higher than 1.20 set the SoC voltage on Auto to 1.087V, higher is better.

2. Increased the ram voltage to 1.38V. It booted and the ram was now at 3600Mhz, SoC voltage 1.200. Unfortunately, this was not OCCT (medium data set) and IntelBurn Test (stress level Very High) stable, and I got a BSOD.

3. Decreased the ram back to 3200Mhz, 1.35V, timings to 16,20,20,38,57. Ram was at 3200Mhz but the SoC had dropped to 1.087V. This was OCCT (medium data set) and IntelBurn Test (stress level Very High) stable.

4. Per Ryzen Master CLDO VDDP and VDDG were 1.0979V, GearDownEn was enabled and ProcODT set to 60.

5. In the bios, set ram back to 3600Mhz, 1.38V, and timings to 18,22,22,42,64, set CLDO VDDP and VDDG to 0.95V, and ProcODT to 48. Booted and ram was at 3600Mhz, SoC at 1.200V, CLDO VDDP at 0.9474V and VDDG at 0.9976V. OCCT (medium data set) started throwing out errors after ~30 seconds, but IntelBurn Test (stress level Very High) completed 10 passes successfully.

6. Last try, set CLDO VDDG to 0.90V and ProcODT to 43.6. VDDG was still at 0.9976V. Same results with OCCT (medium data set), errors after ~30 seconds. Ran OCCT again with large data set, errors after ~2 minutes.

So back to setting my ram to 3200Mhz. My advice again is get 3200Mhz ram that's on your Asrock B550 MB's memory QVL list.

Sup guys, I had this issue as well. I had 2x 16gb 3600mhz Vengeance RGB sticks where it detected at 2133mhz and I was able to bump it up to max 3133mhz. I have found a fix for me after 1 whole day of trying any of my solutions from overclocking and much more tinkering.

The fix is quite simple.

1. I had my 2x DRAM sticks in DRAM slots A1 & B1
2. Relocate the 2x DRAM sticks into slots A2 & B2 as it has more support for faster sticks in the B550 Phantom Gaming 4 Mobo unlike A1 & B1.
3. Get into Bios and put on the XMP profile & bump it up to the speed it's manufactured for (3600mhz for mine)

*If you get 2 red lights on your GPU & DRAM mobo leds after putting it in the new slots, it just means you haven't actually pushed the DRAM all the way in. I pushed it a little more and heard new clicks and it got fixed.
