Subject: Add USB to Boot Order

z68 Pro 3 Gen 3, Intel i7 3400 MHz, UEFI P1.10.
Perhaps a 2011 build. Stored without hard drive after a couple of years. Another hard drive installed recently. Lubuntu 18.04 installed via CD, the only OS on the machine.
I have done a CMOS reset to factory by the battery out technique.
I have the latest Lubuntu (20.04) on a USB, that will not install. There is no provision, that I can see, to add USB to the boot order.
Any suggestions ?
What other details do I need to provide ?
Thanks in advance for any help, Keep well, John (in Sydney).

Would a BIOS update add the missing USB boot facility ?
I have been accessing UEFI, is there a lower BIOS that I could access ? And use to add USB boot.
Keep well, John.

Posted a thread on the Ubuntu Forum on this subject.
A couple of good responses, one way-out.
The suggestion was to disconnect all IDE/SATA devices, and turn on with just the USB connected. This may force UEFI to address the USB. Then turn-off, then start up and check the UEFI options. Sometimes the UEFI then adds the USB option to the boot selection list.
Tried it and it works. But, the UEFI seems to only allow two boot options, so had to disconnect the DVD to get a USB boot with ability to install on the hard drive.
I can accept this as it is not often I will need to either boot from USB or use the DVD.
Keep well, John.
