I'm trying to upgrade from a B450m Pro4 to B550 ATX board. Last week I tried a Steel Legend. Plugged everything in and the board rgb's all light up but power button does nothing. Tried re-seating ram a dozen times, cleared cmos, reset the cpu and fan. Nothing worked, so I returned it and ordered an Extreme 4. Meanwhile I re-installed the B450, everything works fine.
The Extreme 4 arrived yesterday and i wired it up this morning. Exact same thing happened. The rbg lights on the board light up when the PSU switch is turned on but the the board won't turn on with the power button.
Here are my components:
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-32GVK
PSU: Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro Series EA750G Pro 750W Semi-Modular, 80 PLUS GOLD
CPU: Ryzen5 3600
GPU: EVGA RTX 2080Ti FTW Ultra
Been building these things for 15 years and never came across anything like this. The chances of 2 dead boards in a row are off the charts, so it must be me. Can anybody help?? Thanks!

Are you sure you have the power switch hooked up to the correct pins? I know it's a silly question but I have to ask. Have you tried a bare bones setup to see if maybe something is conflicting? It could also be possible that the standoffs are in different places between the 2 boards and something is shorting underneath and triggering short protection on the board. It may be worth trying the board outside of the case if you have not already done so.

Thanks for the reply! Yea, the power pins are correct, I reseated them several times to be sure. I also tried the board outside the case on top of the retail box with just the main power cables, one stick of ram and the video card.
I suspect an incompatible memory issue, although this memory is supposed to work with this board according to Neweggs memory finder. I have a RMA setup with Newegg but I'd really like to get this board working! Thanks again for your help.
