Does anyone know if the new Ryzen 5 chips will be compatible with the first gen X370 Taichi? They do not have them listed yet in the compatibility document.

I highly doubt it will be officially supported. AMD tried to exclude the 300 series
with Ryzen 3000 but ended up having to provide AGESA for it to manufacturers and
allowing them to decide what boards to support. This time however they were even
reluctant to support 400 series boards and have extended the same now to the 400
series as they did to the 300 series last time. In other words, the only way we
will likely see support for Ryzen 5000 is through 3rd party BIOS mods or if
manufacturers find a way to adapt the AGESA from the 400 series to work with the
300 series.

This is not an official statement, I do not speak for ASRock (or any other
manufacturer), this is just my opinion based on currently available information.

well there are leaked bioses already and 5900x runs easily on A320 so I don't see why they wouldn't give support for it.

As a Taichi x3700 user my VRM can handle 5950X OC as it was overkill for times when it was released. I wanna to run 5900X on it.

With any 3rd party BIOS mods .. just keep in mind you run the risk of hosing your setup.

Butt! .. you run the risk of hosing your setup anytime you flash your BIOS anyways

Just keep in mind that ASRock is not going to offer, nor should they, any help in regards to 3rd party BIOS mods and you will be on your own .. or at least relegated to getting any support from wherever you get/got your hacked BIOS from.
