Hey. I'm using B450M Pro4-F motherboard with Ryzen 1600, I couldn't overclock my memory so I thought that's the problem in the BIOS. I went to the support page of my motherboard and the descriptions of all the BIOS versions above 1.50 stated that it's not advicable to update to that particular version if Summit Ridge and some other CPU series used. So the question is should I update to 1.50 or the latest version? Right now it's on 1.30 according to CPU-Z.

a full answer would be depending on.......
is your ryzen 1600 the original or the later 1600
the code on the box says AE for early ones or AF for later ones the AF is actually a 2600 with slightly slower clocks
now heres the fun part as RULE......... asrock bios for supporting the 1600AF seems to be the later 3000 series bios which is what my wifes 1600af is using on her b450m pro4 with 3200 mhz crucial ballistix running at its xmp perfectly fine the general advice is NOT TO bother updating bios past the versions to support your cpu series (unless it seems you do have the 1600AF)

I have already updated my BIOS version to the latest one, not looking at all the warnings and red signs with my fingers crossed. Now when it was successfully flashed I could set my XMP and overclock the processor. It's the original one, not AF.
