Hello guys

Flashed BIOS v1.30 and is much more worst than Beta 1.24.
Beta BIOS is the best for now with this sh*tty mainboard.

V1.0 wont boot, no matter what you do.
V1.2 boots up but has horrible boot time and freezes.
V1.24 Beta is the best, DRAM overclocking work, boot speed is good. Only issue is sometimes 5 beeps, but boots up. Another issue is the unstable current delivered to PCIe slot and SB.
My watercooling starts the vents and the garphics card goes very hot.
Graphic Card IS not OVERCLOCKED. the BIOS changes itself the current and voltage delivered to the slot and SB.
Tomorrow the current is normal and my watercooling vents are inactive.
The BIOS changes for itself, internally, current, voltages...
Yes, switched A-B, flashed B, booted from B, same issue with Asrock.

V1.30 is more buggy than V1.0.
No boot, and if the system powers up i have to wait 5-7 minutes.
Fast boot enabled and settings are the same as in V1.24.
No matter what i change in the UEFI settings, nothing is good.
Horrible boot time and unstable.
Do not dare to overclock such a system.

My worst mainboard till Amiga and Atari times.
My old 286 boots up faster than this Asrock sh*t.
Never again Asrock.

Win10 x64
X99 Extreme 4/3.1
5820K
Samsung SM951 NVMe 256Gb
Geil Superluce GLWB416GB3000C16QC 3000MHz 16Gb
Please, my graka is OK, my powersupply too.

Back-flash to L1.24 then. Reset your BIOS back to UEFI Default from inside the BIOS, then Save and Exit first though. Beta BIOSes are notoriously flaky for some changes that may or may not have been overwrote in the switch/up-flash from BETA to a Production BOIS.

Were you having an issue that L1.24 solved or are you one of those that chases BIOS revisions with fervor hoping for a miracle?

What's the name of the P1.30 zip files you downloaded, and a link to same please.

Not saying this is your problem, but did you reset to defaults before flashing P1.30? That matters some times.

I failed to mention, with P1.30 now flashed on your board you should maybe might perform the battery out and switch jumper method of clearing it. That alone may make a huge difference.

How did you go about flashing the B(ackup) BIOS? Last I knew that was forbidden and not even accessible to flash. That's why it's called the Backup BIOS.

Thanks wardog for your time.
There is a option for backup from A to B, thats the way i updated the B-Bios to v1.2.
Yes, loaded UEFI defaults, pulled the battery out and replaced the factory one.
Its a very strange issue with this board.
It has a life for itself.
Today i change all parameter and works fine, shut the pc down.
After powering up again, board beeps 5 times or has horrible boot time or changes the voltage of the PCIe slot. Sometimes the SB voltage is set to high and the cooler on top is very hot, hoter as usual.
Sometimes it take several minutes for reboot the system, sometimes 10 seconds to shut down and power up again.
The Gail Super luce has LED lights on it.
Slow flashing indicates low temps and rapidly flashing high temperature.
The 2 banks at the right side from socket flashes very fast and are hot when i put my hand on it.
The 2 banks at left flashes slow and are only light warm under touch.
This is strange, after next time bootup this issue with the RAM banks is gone.
The newest issue with BIOS v1.3 is problems with the Samsung 951 M.2 NVME SSD.
Never had this before with older BIOS versions.
Something goes wrong during the long bootup time.
After passing the POST Windows wants to check the disk or/and the Reparatur screen pops up.
After Windows has finished checking the disk and reboot all is normal.
But NOT EVERY TIME I POWER UP MY MACHINE!!!!!!
Thats so strange.

In all this weeks with this board, its a challenge for me, i learned all about it.
Every switch in UEFI and what it does or not. Or should do, to say it so.
Due to the strange changing of voltage itself, its impossible to find out a configuration that works.
I use HWMonitor, CPU-Z shows only CPU voltage.

And it has defintively to do with BIOS.
Any BIOS version has its strange issue.
v1.3 that with the Samsung M.2 SSD.
Its not the BIOS chip itself. Worked long time with B Bios and no changes to A.

After booting up, the perfomance and speed ist OK, slight better as other X99 with 5820K.
Fortunately i have a watercooling installed and no problems with heat.
The Samsung SSD has blue RAM cooler on the chips and a small ventilator blows on the SSD and the SB heatspreder.

Horrible boot time is caused from external USB harddisk or USB sticks.
Sometimes, sometimes not.
After pulling uot the USB stick the board boots up in 5 seconds to desktop.
Sometimes it boots proper WITH the USB stick or hard disk.

Asrock has alot of work with this platform.

I have to ask again. Are you 100% positive that the B BIOS was re-flashed to this new revision?

It may appear as though it is flashing the B chip, but ..... ??

Hello wardog

Now, the B Bios has V1.3 too.
Flashed it many times.

Found more curiosity.
With v1.3 HDD Saver is not proper funktionaly.
All older versions are good, HDD Saver works.
Now, the HDDs are mounted and dismounted every few minutes.
The notification from Windows in the right lower corner pops up.
It also dismounts the HDD during write access and Coping files to it.
The system then hangs while there is no more HDD.
Pulled away the worthless HDD saver cable.

After taking above picture with  my handy, F12 dont work "No space to save file", the board wont boot up.
Hangs at "99". Switched the power supply off and on for another boot up.
At USB port there is a USB stick, FAT32 formatted, for the screenshot and the board dont recognize the stick.

Really, this board is a GHOST. Every time its boots up there is something new.
But HDD saver bug is only at V1.3.
The USB bug is going worst with V1.3. With my USB stick plugged in for taking UEFI screenshots the board wont boot anymore. With prior BIOS versions the board boots up after a couple of minutes.
Now it wont boot up with the USB stick plugged in.
Just checkend it again.
Board hangs at "99" forever.

Dear, in my opinion this board is a mess.
Right?
Who can solve all this bugs?

p.s. overclocking the RAMs is now unstable in V1.3.
At 2933MHz system crashes.
Beta 1.24 was stable also with 3000MHz.
