Hey folks I could really use a hand here. I'm having trouble with my TB3 R2.0 AIC card. I've got it hooked up to a 3090 with the 2 provided DisplayPort cables, connected to the motherboard TB header, with Thunderbolt enabled in the BIOS, and Thunderbolt Security set to None.
When connecting a Dell WD19TB dock, everything works great -- all the peripherals, USB, everything -- except the video and only in Windows. Video output works in BIOS/EFI, it works in Windows Recovery mode, it works during booting Windows, right up until the spinner disappears, then poof, video goes with it.
It still appears in the Thunderbolt device list, the monitor is recognized in the Geforce utility, the resolution is right, the refresh rate is right -- but no video. I've tried with and without CSM, I've tried various security settings, I've updated the TB drivers, I've updated the dock firmware, I've updated the BIOS.
I've no idea what else to try.
Here's the system.
- ASRock X570M Pro4 with bios v3.30 (Latest BIOS)
- ASRock Thunderbolt 3 Add-in Card R2.0 (Latest Drivers)
- Ryzen 7 3700X
- EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra (Latest Drivers)
- 16GB of DDR4 3200, XMP loaded
- 2x M.2 SSDs, an old Samsung 960 Evo and a new Sabrent Rocket PCIe 4.0
- 1x SATA SSD (MX500)
- 1x Fenvi AX200 WiFi 6 M.2 Key E
The kicker? The dock works great with my MacBook.
Yes, I know the 3090 in this thing is a rocket ship strapped to Honda Fit haha. The CPU and friends are getting upgraded when I can finally get my hands on a beefy Ryzen 5000 series.
Thank you so much for any tips!
