Hi, wanted to know if there is a benefit of updating my bios above 3.5

current setup

taichi x470 bios 3.5
ryzen 7 2700x
32 GB 4 sticks - Patriot 16GB Kit (2 X 8GB) 3400 MHz (PC4-27200) Viper 4 Series DDR4 2400 MT/s DRAM (PV416G340C6K) running at 3200

no problems detected aside that the ram with xmp enabled (3400) has to run @ 3200, doesn't boot at 3400

No, do not fix unless broken. These days BIOS updates cause more troubles than they fix things ;)
Especially when 3.60 version for your motherboard has the following warning:
*ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU is being used on your system.

Your 2700X is Pinnacle Ridge

I have to agree with Muziqaz, if your system is working well and you don't have
a more serious issue than RAM frequency don't update. This is particularly true
with Ryzen, the only time you should update is if you are upgrading to un unsupported
CPU (on your current BIOS) or if you are experiencing a serious issue that is making
your system unreliable/unuseable. More often than not, if you are not using the
latest CPU generation, updates will break things rather than fix them.
