I recently purchased an x399 Phantom Gaming 6 motherboard to replace my Gigabyte Aorus x399 that had some components killed during a power surge and I can?™t seem to get the thing to POST (I connected a speaker to the board, no beep), and no video on my plugged in EVGA NVidia GeForce 1080. The processor is a Threadripper 1950x, and was operational on the older motherboard earlier this morning. I?™m wondering if it just didn?™t seat right or something?

Turns out I didn?™t have the 12V plugged in. Now I did and I got it to get to a ?œInsert boot media??screen, but now I can?™t get that anymore. It just runs and then turns off, no beeps. What?™s wrong?

Clear CMOS, ideally by disconnecting power from the wall and pulling the CMOS
battery for about 20 mins or so. I am guessing you changed some settings in the
UEFI? If not, pull the RAM out and reseat it making sure it is fully inserted into
the slot. I have the same board and experienced the same issue, turned out to be
the RAM not being all the way seated. The slots are a very tight fit, which is good
but can mean that the RAM feels secure before it's actually seated properly.
