I have an ASRock B450M Pro4 and a 2700x. I've updated my BIOS from 2.0 to 3.5 and now my core speed in Ryzen master shows 4000mhz all the time, my EDC 99% and the fans are on all the time.

I can't downgrade the BIOS and I am at a loss for what to do. Do you guys know by any chance£ I haven't changed any settings in the BIOS.

Regardless of the scare tactics that whomever at ASRock that does their support websites uses .. I'd upgrade to AGESA 1.0.0.6 (BIOS 4.60)

I upgraded to 5.0 and I still have the issue.

What helped was disabling Core Performance Boost. Now it doesn't boost to 4Ghz all the time and the idle frequency is 2200mhz. However now I've lost the ability to boost at all: under load I get 3700mhz.

Do you have any advice£

uninstall ryzen master
reset bios to defaults
dowload and install the very latest 'chipset ' driver from AMD support direct

test/monitor cpu boost habits
if its back to normal (which it should be) enter bios and load your xmp dram settings
then chill out relax and enjoy the system working as fast as it can in normal parameters and staying quiet and cool etc
i defy anyone to be able to tell the difference between a stock 2700x and a manually overclocked 2700x without the use of a frame timer program

p.s.
my wifes system uses a b450m pro4 on bios 3.9 with the 1600AF (eg the 2600)
all bios settings stock apart from xmp on the 3200mhz ballistix ram
no ryzen master, no playing with the cpu clocks etc etc

and you can see from my posts way back in 2017
im quite able and quite good at tuning ryzen cpus and ram
my 1700 cpu and 3200 ram system at the time was running quite hard to get results ,these later cpus are best left to there own devices now
2xxx/3xxx/5xxx cpus
