Ok I'm trying to build a new pc since my old one crapped. I figured I'd try and amd this time but just having issues. I have a amd ryzen 5 3600 2 8gb 2400mh ballistic ram. A gtx 970 gaming 4g, 650 watt power supplies. And my motherboard shows a sticker showing the void is P3.70.

I've tried with one stick of ram in either slot, swapping the sticks, removing the cmos battery. Nothing seems to get me a picture on my monitor. All the lights and fans turn on on the pc and I can hear the fan rev up for the cpu for a little bit then it slows down, then revs up again etc etc

Any ideas would be great.

check
24pin main power lead to board is plugged in fully
make sure the EXTRA CPU/EPS power plug is inserted up in the corner this is either a 4pin or 8 pin on board and the plug from PSU is a 4+4 plug
you wont be the first to miss this extra power or to even plug a GPU pcie6+2 in by mistake
next
stick one stick of ram in slot , and remove the gpu and power cable from the wall socket to pc
flip out the cmos battery (coin type battery)
press and hold the pc power button for 30 secs to fully discharge the board
replace the battery and the GPU
plug into wall
try to start pc now WAITING UPTO 5 mins without pressing power off etc
tghe am4 pc can take quite a while to boot up the FIRST time while they set memory training etc

The power 24 pin is in all the way, I do have the cpu plug (my power has a cpu cord that is two 4 pin ones together so I tried both sets) I'll try taking the gpu out and try to reset the bios via the coin battery with it out today and I'll post back with results, I've tried before leaving the pc on for at least 30 minutes before. But I'll try your steps as well. I posted to the subreddit as well and someone mentioned the memory I have (which is ballistic ram at 2400mhz) could be the issue as well. Any thoughts on that£

Ok tried what you suggested, I removed the gpu and held down the power button while the power was unplugged then removed the battery and waited at least an hour. Put the battery back in re connected the gpu and power. And turned on the pc. It's been about 8 mins now and nothing on the screen. So I'm not sure if that worked. Any other suggestions£

the ballistix ram should play nicely with the 3600/450hdv combo
i use ballistix in my wifes asrock b450 system and it instantly worked flawlessly at 3200mhz (so asrocks bios *should* have details for this ram)
you could try another gpu if you can borrow one, or try another ram stick if you can borrow one
apart from that im afraid im out of ideas to suggest and you will need to find local help to diagnose the problem
have you tried disconnecting all hdd/ssd from system
