So recently I finished building my new rig using the Aqua Z490. The GPU is a Zotac RTX 3070.

There are two problems going on here.

1. I see "VGA Failure" on the OLED display even though the card is working and displaying, running games, etc. In fact, I'm typing this now while using the 3070.

2. I can't get into the UEFI or windows safe mode to trouble shoot because the screen goes black. I can get into the UEFI and safe mode using my old GTX 770 though.

Currently running BIOS 1.6

Anyone have any thoughts? It's just a shame that the OLED is only displaying the failure and I can only tweak things by having to physically swap out cards.

Thanks

Hi All,

Thank you for your post.

We tested Z490 AQUA with RTX 30 series GPU in our lab and the OLED screen show normal.

Please refer to the following suggestions to verify the system

1.try the latest OLED Control ver:1.0.1 to verify. Here is the download link:
https://download.asrock.com/Utility/ASRock%20OLED%20Control/ASRockOLEDControl%28v1.0.1%29.zip" rel="nofollow - https://download.asrock.com/Utility/ASRock%20OLED%20Control/ASRockOLEDControl(v1.0.1).zip
2.Clear CMOS by referring to the user manual page. 42.
User manual: https://download.asrock.com/Manual/Z490%20AQUA.pdf" rel="nofollow - https://download.asrock.com/Manual/Z490%20AQUA.pdf
3.Cut your AC power off for 10 minutes and check if the OLED working fine.
4.Remove the GPU and connect the video cable to the motherboard and check if the OLED working fine.
5.Cross-test with other HDMI\DP cables and monitors to verify.

To be noticed, the video adapter (like HDMI to VGA adapter) might make the MB lost the graphics detection then cause this problem, we recommend connecting the monitor directly via HDMI or DP cable.

All the best,
ASRock TSD
