Hi, after many failed attempts I came here to ask your help :
It is impossible for me to get the wake on lan feature to work.

my (relevant) hardware :

> Motherboard : B450 Steel Legend
> Integrated NIC : RTL8111H

What I did with my BIOS :

> Enable "ACPI Configuration\PCIE Device Power On"
> Enable/Disable Boot from onboard lan (even if it is not required)
Then I tried to ...
> Update the BIOS to the latest stable version
> Enable "Onboard Devices Configuration/Onboard Realtek Lan Controller"

I tried many things under Linux at first :

> enabling wake on lan with ethtool
> Switching kernel driver from 8169 to 8168
> checked the reception of the wake on lan UDP packet (everything is fine)
- adding kernel module options to enable W.O.L. (both for 8168 and 8169 ) : s5wol=1

I then gave up using linux and wanted to give a try to windows drivers.

Under Windows I tried :

> Unchecking fast restart
> Using both Asrock provided diver and realtek provided driver (more recent)
> Enabling "Allow this device to wake up computer" under the power management section of the NIC device
> I tried differents configurations under the Advanced tab including :
   - Shutdown WOL                                                         : Enabled
   - Wake on Magic Packet                                               : Enabled
   - Wake on Magic Packet when system ... (impossible to read further) : Enabled
   - Wake on pattern match                                               : Enabled
   - WOL & Shutdowon Link Speed                                  : 10 Mbps First
> I tried to disable everything related to energy efficiency under the advanced tab of the NIC device

During my investigation I noted that:

> My NIC is powered on during S5 (indicated by the switch connected to it)
> My NIC seems to reboot during shutdown (my switch indicate that it is powered off then powered back on)
> Interstingly when I enable (set on "power on") restore after AC power loss the computer reboot after every shutdown (both with windows, linux and bios menu) I don't think It is normal but looking at the kernel logs the linux shutdown sequence seems to go well.
--> I suspect that my computer is briefly going into G3 after every shutdown and then going into S5

Any idea are welcome.
Thanks for your help, it is starting to be a bit frustrating.
