Hi,

So I bought a new Asrock B550 itx\ac motherboard, and started to build a pc when I noticed at the end it wont boot up, no power, no led lights, no fans, nothing.

Components used:
CPU: AMD 3700X
RAM: Vengeance 16GB LPX 3200mhz
SSD: M.2 Inland 1TB Nvme
PSU: AMD 6700XT

I did the following tests:

1) made sure everything is connected and correct (MB cable, cpu cable, plugs, switches on)

2) Shorted front panel power switch on MB to rule out bad switch => No power, no boot.

3a) Tested PSU through shorting 24pin => Works
3b) Tested PSU in another systems => All Works

4) Tested CPU/RAM/GPU in another system => Works

I am suspecting MB could be faulty? Is there a way to check?

Thanks

If you have the board already in a case, try testing it outside the case. If
anything is shorting under the board it will not allow you to power up. Make sure
you don't have any standoffs or case protrusions shorting against the underside of
the board.

Thanks for the reply.

I did test in case first, then out of case. Made sure there is nothing shorting the board. Still no power/not working.

Unfortunately, I dont have a 4-pin module speaker to see if there are any beep error codes.

Do ASrock B550 itx\ac have led when the MB is connected to PSU (PSU on)?

You don't list a GPU, which makes sense since the motherboard has onboard graphics support. But the CPU you are using does not appear to have integrated graphics. I think you are going to need a different CPU if you plan to operate without a GPU.

I don't know how that motherboard will behave with no GPU and a CPU that doesn't have integrated graphics.

I actually listed the GPU, however I put in front of PSU by mistake (typo).

Anyway figured the issue. It was the case switch, and the tool I was using for shorting wasnt a proper conductive. All works now.
