I have an 960GM/U3S3 FX motherboard and I want to run a pcie 3.0 card.
The card is a GTX 970 and is compatable with pcie 2.0.
I tried and got a blank screen, but by the sound the pc was booting up normaly.

I tried looking for a bios filmware update to sort it, but could find none.
I look at the bios, but found nothing there.

How do I get this card to work with my board.?

Hi,

we would need much more information here on your PC specs...

Like: What power supply unit do you have? What was the last graphics card that worked? Does it still work? Can you verfiy that the new card is alright by plugging it into another system? ...

If your system boots up in background alright, it seems like a connection problem between card and monitor. Did you use the same cable or another one? Have you tried another port, like DVI, DP and HDMI (if applicable)?

This has nothing to do with PCIe 2.x/3.0 compatibility.

If you switch the display from the GTX 970 back to the onboard header does the monitor display an image? It sounds to me like the board is preferentially selecting onboard graphics over the GTX 970. In your BIOS there should be an option to select PCIE over onboard.

On the first screen opened when you enter the BIOS, at the top, is a line that has your currently installed BIOS revision in it.

What does that say?

I have a saved BETA BIOS 1.40 that IIRC corrected for graphics cards, which ones I don't remember, but in just now looking at your boards downloads available I now see at production P1.50 Date Sept 9 2015
