Hello

When I try to install ISXI I get the error "Failed to initialize acpi subsystem : Failure" and the installation does not continue
I tried with versions 6.7 and 7.02 and got the same error in both
Currently proxmox is running on it but I want to use esxi

Mainboard :Deskmini x300 Bios 1.70
CPU : Ryzen 7 5600G
Ram : 2 X Kingston 32 GB KVR32S22D8/32
HDD : Samsung 980 MZ-V8V500BW

Same Problem here.

- ESXI-Fails while initialising acpi
- Proxmox7 throws an Error about something being wrong in the acpi table, but continues

Cheers

I made a request to Asrock's support about this, they only replied that we support windows 10.

hello again
I came across many articles that esxi works fine in lower bios versions.
The problem seems to be in version 1.70 but since I am using 5th generation processor I have to use this bios version

Tried to upgrade BIOS version of X300 with Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G, I found that 1.40 is the only version that runs ESXi 6.7. Both 1.60 and 1.70 versions crash with PSOD while ESXi initialising ACPI modules.

ASROCK needs to fix this problem.

Guys, please provide the following information and I will forward your issue
to my contacts in ASRock's tech support department:

1. CPU
2. BIOS version(s) you have tested
3. Any settings you have tried changing in the BIOS
4. OS version
5. The exact error message you are encountering

Also, if you could try running Ubuntu on a bootable flash drive and see if you
get ACPI issues with that. If Ubuntu does not experience the issue then the
problem is likely on ESXi's end and more specific information may be needed.

1. AMD RYZEN 7 5700G
2. X300-STX P1.70
3. I did not make a special bios setting, people are using it in the 1.40 version bios without any problems.
4. VMWARE ESXI 6.7 and 7.02
5. Failed to ititialize acpi subsystem : Failure Screen

Were you able to try a live Ubuntu installation?

I have some follow up questions for you:

1. Does the OS function at all or is the system inoperable?
2. If the system is functional, does this error occur after an S3 mode event?

Given you need 1.70 to run your CPU I assume others successfully running
under BIOS 1.40 are using older generation CPUs. If you have any idea what CPUs
they are running this info would be helpful to ASRock.

Thanks for your cooperation and patience

hello again

I booted the device with Ubuntu live cd and I am attaching the screenshot of the acpi error in the kernel logs.

1. ESXI won't open
I tried proxmox it gives acpi error but it works
I didn't see any problem in windows
A person on the forum who has the same problem with 4th generation CPUs says that when they change the bios to 1.40, the problem disappears.

Thanks.

Thanks JZ.

For those that don't know JZ's website contains a wealth of information and
BIOS betas etc. A must for any AMD user.

I have also uploaded it to google drive:

If you guys could test it and let us know how it goes that would be great.

Guys, this beta was made specifically to address your particular issue, it may never
find it's way onto the website. Officially ASRock only supports Windows, this
BIOS was specifically made because of this thread in an effort to help you guys.
It has been tested by ASRock in their BIOS department and should be just as safe
to use as any other release.

Nevertheless, it is your prerogative to try it out or not.

Hello
The bios update in the link below solves the problem, but esxi 7.0 does not support realtek ethernet, it does not support klinux drivers, you can only run it with 6.7

without forgetting, you have to integrate the r8186 drivers into the installation iso to run esxi 6.7

How stable is esxi with the L1.72?
I am considering buying and x300 and pairing it with an AMD 5600G.
It is not for production of course but for a home lab.
I don't want the server to crash every (few) days :)
