Dear community,

I just purchased a 3080 but when plugged into my PC I get no display :(
The screen stays black but the correct display port is connected as my screen will occasionally show "DisplayPort" and the lights on the GPU are on so it does seem to get power.

Based on Googling around I've tried the following:

- Inserted my old 1080 together with the 3080. The 1080 displays fine
- Reinstalled drivers
- Uninstalled drivers with DDU and reinstalled drivers
- Cleared bios setting by removing the battery for 2 min
- Checked Device Manager: 1080 shows, but not the 3080 (scanned for hardware changes and tried show hidden devices)
- Tested with another computer and the card works fine on that one. That computer isn't owned by me however so using that is not a solution. As I can't even make it into BIOS using my own PC (but that PC works fine with my old 1080) I recon most likely it's a driver/firmware issue.

I'm using a B450M Steel Legend mobo, Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB DDR4 and a 700W PSU.

Does anyone have an idea how I may be able to tackle this issue? Your assistance would be much appreciated.

Can I even trust these motherboards at all with Nvidia 3080 cards? A friend of mine owns a newer Steel Legend board and he has a dual 3080 GPU rig which won't run for more than 30 sec in Windows but works fine in Ubuntu. He also tested replacing everything but the mobo.

I seem unable to edit my original topic, but I solved this issue:

I contacted Nvidia support and they recommended using a stronger PSU as the 3080 apparently requires a 750W PSU to boot. I hooked up a 1000W PSU and the system booted without issues.

I find this is puzzling because my rig under full load doesn't even hit 700W. Even if I assume I draw 80% of 700 = 560W that's still more than my rig uses under 100% load. What matters I guess is that it works now.
