Tried upgrading the CPU on a computer I use as a server.

Went from 2600 to a 4750G, but I can't get the computer to boot or POST.

I did upgrade the bios to most recent.

Tried resetting bios, clearing the cmos, removed battery, shorted it, etc.

Putting back old will boot after a couple of resets.

According to the approved CPU list the 4750G is listed as compatible.

I have no clue whether I just simply received a bad cpu or this is motherboard related.

I only have 2 red led's on the motherboard once I power it up. They never cycle, just stay lit red. After 10 seconds the computer reboots and just keeps cycling in this fashion.

Have also tried downgrading from 3.6 bios to 2.9.

It's difficult to diagnose what is going on. I wish I had another mobo to throw this cpu into to test but I don't.

Anyone have any helpful tips on what I can try?

I did email Asrock support 5 days ago but received 0 responses.

Very frustrating.

I think I'm understanding more. Seems that I need to update via EFI bootable usb since my old processor is Pinnacle and not through bios.

All the links provided by ASRock are 404 though. Does anyone know where I am supposed to get these files from?

I'm looking at these instructions: https://download.asrock.com/TSD/Ryzen5000/X570M%20Pro4.pdf" rel="nofollow - https://download.asrock.com/TSD/Ryzen5000/X570M%20Pro4.pdf

All the links inside the pdf are 404. Ie:

I managed to fix this with Eric's help from ASRock support.

There is a ton of confusion regarding this it seems like. He also initially stated that I need another CPU, and that I would have to send the mobo in.

But in the end, he updated the links in the above PDF again. This PDF will solve this problem. My computer is booting with the new CPU. Went from Pinnacle to Matisse without the need to use another CPU.
