Hello all, I have built a PC almost without a hitch a few months back.
ERROR: The problem: when I booted my comp at the new place I was getting a black screen only.
ATTEMPTED FIXES: I booted into bios and tried to repair and to go back to a previous system recovery image (about last week). that was a no go. I then got a USB stick with windows recovery and tried that (windows 10 pro, 64 bit architecture, English). As I was trying to reinstall I was getting the error:
Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is not of the GPT partition style.
In order to resolve that I deleted the partitions from the hard drive where windows was previously installed (the 1TB m.2 SSD NVMe PCI-Express 3.0, 1500 MB/s). I was then getting this error:
we couldn't install windows in the location you chose. please check your media drive. Here's more info about what happened 0x80300024
So, running into that issue I logged into the BIOS as per some youtube video and disabled CSM to try to get the legacy boot (or so I thought).
NEW ERROR: So then I hit save changes and restart and now... no more dash, no more bios access screen, and it goes straight to a black screen. I had noticed as I was doing this my boot order options decreased, and so I may not have CD in the boot drive so...
ATTEMPTS TO RESOLVE: I have a CD drive attached to this thing and I have tried to get it to boot from the CD but it is a no go. Is there a way to reset the mobo so that it will go through the boot process? Or does anyone have any idea how to fix? Thanks!
