Hi all. Has anyone any experience with updating BIOS on A320M-HDV R4.0 please ??
Experienced all sorts of issues with MS FlightSim updates. Ensured all W10 Pro Updates were installed and also drivers from manufacturers websites were latest versions. Issues persisted. Only thing left was to check BIOS.
A320M-HDV R4.0 AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Pinnacle Ridge CPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 16GB DDR4 W10 Pro
I was on BIOS v2.30 dated 01JUL2019
ASRock support page CPU Support List states 'All' BIOS are validated.
I updated BIOS to v7.00 which is a 'bridge' BIOS before updating to v7.04.
On first reboot, I was met with a BLUE Recovery page: (also on subsequent boot ups having reset new BIOS to load default settings)
>> Your PD/Device needs to be repaired The application or operating system could not be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. File:\WINDOWS\system32\winload.exe Error code: 0xc000000f You need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media, contact your PC manufacturer or PC/Device manufacturer PRESS Enter to try again PRESS F8 for Startup Settings PRESS F9 to use a different operating system <<
Pressing Enter did nothing Pressing F8 did nothing Pressing F9 took me to another BLUE screen ... Choose an Operating System
Choice was W10 or W10 Pro (with a countdown timer for W10 to run automatically)
Selecting W10 Pro, my PC boots up normally and runs correctly !!
QUESTIONS: Has anyone else suffered same issue ?? How do I report this to ASRock ?? What danger might there be in my proceeding to update BIOS to v7.04 ?? Thank you in advance.
PS. subsequent to writing above, I have sorted out (removed) the BLUE screens on boot up by going to:
Control Panel > System & Security > Systems > Advanced System Settings > Startup & Recovery > and untick 'time to display list of operating systems' and selecting W10 Pro as default operating system.
BUT ... I am still nervous about what has happened and what 'might' happen going forward onto BIOS v 7.04 ?? Might there be dangers of remaining on a so called 'bridge BIOS' ?? Thank you once more. Hope I have explained my issue correctly. BRgds
