Topic: x370 Ryzen 5000 support

Subject: x370 Ryzen 5000 support
Date Posted: 27 Dec 2021 at 3:19am
I recently read that MSI is releasing BIOS for some of their x370 and b350 motherboards to allow for some Ryzen 5000 CPU to be installed.

Does ASRock have any similar support? I currently own the X370 Taichi AND the x370 Fatal1ty Professional Gaming.

Thank you

"ASRock has become the first AMD motherboard partner to release official BIOS updates for its X370 series motherboards that add support for AMD's current-gen Ryzen 5000 (Vermeer) CPUs. AMD originally told Tom's Hardware of potentially officially sanctioned modernizing of 300-series motherboard CPU compatibility in our interview with AMD's Corporate VP and GM of the Client Channel business, David McAfee, last week at CES 2022. What I'd like to know is if the same is planned for B350 boards. If so, let me be the first to suggest Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4 as the first release candidate.

I don't see a BIOS update to allow for the 5000 series.

Cmon ASROCK! Get that BIOS update out and I'll buy a 5800 or 5950X immediately.

Good job ASRock !!!!!

oh pray god, message reach to ASRock bios engineer, hope everyone can load XMP successfully in next bios.

many experience learnt over 4 years.

procODT is most important parameter, I think.
take example Galax HOF 3600mhz B-die, Taichi-x370 bios 6.62 default gives
1)auto to 36.9ohms is too low and always fail windows and get BSOD,
2)manual to 40ohms only 95% stable stil get random reboot from idling only, no load.
3)manual to 43.3ohms perfect, finally over one whole month no random reboot at all, reference original primary and secondary timing.

load line level 3 need for both CPU and SOC

please have internal table to auto set voltages xxxx i.e 1.1v when ram is yyyy i.e. 3600mhz

good for 3600mhz
vdd-soc = 1.1v
CLDO-VDDP 0.95v very important needed, from 2017 bioses was 0.7v only always crash.
cpu-vddp 1v
cpu-vddg 1.05v

HWinfo Vin5 always boot up shows 0.7v+/-0.1v but then later fluctuate alot from 0v to 1.5v crazy high ...... I hope this is not VTT-DDR.

X370 Taichi - BIOS P7.00/P7.03*
Do not flash BIOSes if P6.61/P6.62 was already installed and a Renoir or Vermeer is in it.
Bridge BIOS 7.00 and 7.03 must be flashed with a Pinnacle, Raven, Summit or Bristol Ridge CPU.
More information in our forum!

There does not appear to be one available for the Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming
yet. Hopefully we will get one. If I see ASRock add one I will share the link here.

atm there is P6.62 available from JZ, but once 7.00 gets released, you will need to reflash back to official P6.40 before you can use P7.00 onward

Great job updating the platform!
Can someone confirm that https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/Fatal1ty%20X370%20Gaming%20X/index.asp" rel="nofollow - Fatal1ty X370 Gaming X is on the list? The timing is perfect because I wanted to upgrade for a while now.

how come it seems like these BIOS were created by ASRock but not listed on their site?

well asrock has some security stuffs which prevents flashing custom bioses unless they are asrock signed
probably they got hands on bios signing tools from asrock

I installed a 5950x onto an X370 Professional Gaming board. Something fails when I try to boot an OS. Fans start spinning faster and reset button does not work. Anyone have any idea?

Which bios are you using?

P7.06.

I found that disabling a bunch of stuff in BIOS fixed it. Seems this is really a beta BIOS.

I updated the bios to 7.03 in Fatal1ty X370 Gaming X.

Buuuut a tiny big problem happened: There's no way to disable the boot beep! Oh ghosh...

The option disappeared.

I just disconnect the speaker, you can always connect it again if you need to
troubleshoot. I typically just keep a button speaker with a short lead and connector
in my toolkit and don't even bother connecting one to my systems.

The above is old and out-dated.

Correct update starting sometime around middle 2022 ASRock's default voltages are
vddcr_SOC 1.1v
cLDO_VDDP 1v
VDDG_IOD 1.1v
VDDG_CCD 1.1v
when using these voltages, the XMP always pass memtest and stable windows and games.

Example 3800x using corsair hynix AFR CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 duak rank, finally can run 3333MT/s = 1666Mhz with just 1.45v dram, need 60ohms procODT, and various changes to all timings due 11% overclock by Mhz, may be around 20% overclock by timing / actual work done, see screenshot memtest and timing and voltages http://www.my-acoustic.com/images/3333%20memtest%20PASS%2071ns%20141second%2016-18-18-18-40-60-480-357-219.png" rel="nofollow - http://www.my-acoustic.com/images/3333%20memtest%20PASS%2071ns%20141second%2016-18-18-18-40-60-480-357-219.png
