I'll start with my motherboard: FM2A75m-DGS Current (old) CPU: AMD A6-5400k APU with raden(tm) HD graphics 4.00ghz Windows 7 64 bit (non genuine) OK guys, sorry I'm a noob at this stuff, but I've been at this on and off for the last couple of months.. I was told to buy a new CPU from ebay AMD Athlon X4 760K 3.8ghz socket FM2 4C 4MB L2 100W AD760KWOHLCBX Processor.. So I put that in and when I tried to boot it up there was "no video signal" showing up on my monitor, it sounded like it was running normally just with no screen. So I put my old CPU back in and jumped on google. Found other people have had this problem and most said they need to update the BIOS. I read the instructions, seems pretty simple; download link, put it on USB FAT32 format, restart computer, spam the F2 button and hit the instant flash button. I've downloaded it, I drag it onto my USB (at first it was on NTFS, I've since changed it to FAT32), when I go onto the ASROCK screen (f2 or f6 I cant remember) hit the instant flash utility it says "no image file found." My friend mentioned maybe I need to mount the file;since it's probably not the right file type. So I downloaded http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/" rel="nofollow - http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ . I didn't really know what I was doing with it, in the instructions it said I just double click file and it does it. With me it didn't, I tried opening the file with that programme and it just says file is corrupt or unknown. I would've tried updating it with one of the other methods but it doesn't say it can be done with windows 7. If anyone can shed some light on what I'm doing wrong or point me in the right direction it'll be greatly appreciated.

Did you extract the contents of the Zip file to the flash drive or simply move the Zip file to the flash drive? The Zip file will need to be extracted. Your post is somewhat confusing, you say there is no signal yet you also say you are able to enter instant flash and read the message "no image file found". Am I correct in assuming that you have display when you power on the system but not within windows? Additionally the Athlon X4 760k does not have an iGPU, you will not be able to use it without a discrete GPU installed. The Athlon FM2/+ series CPUs are identical to their A10/A8/A6/A4 counterparts with the exception that they do not have an iGPU (it is physically cut on the CPU). -------------

Ahhh when I download the file it's doesn't show up as a zip file. It has zip in the description though. I tried opening it with 7-Zip file manager but it says cannot open file xxxxxxx as a archive. So that must be my problem? Oh sorry, when I put the new CPU there is no video signal. So I've put the old one back in and it's running normally. When I hit instant flash that's where it says no image file found (assuming it's looking through my USB?). The only reason I'm trying to update BIOS is because that's what I've read other people with this problem has done. Oh man, OK well should I try sort out this discrete GPU before I do this BIOS? |

The CPU support list for your board states that your new CPU needs BIOS version 2.60: http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/FM2A75M-DGS/?cat=CPU" rel="nofollow - http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/FM2A75M-DGS/?cat=CPU We can also see in the list above that your new AMD Athlon X4 760K processor does NOT have any onboard graphics support. You will need to use a separate video card with this processor. The Instant Flash BIOS update file for your board is a standard .zip file. The file name is FM2A75M-DGS(2.60)ROM.zip, which is clearly a .zip file that must be extracted. When the file is extracted, the result is a file named FM2A75D2.60 . That is the file that is copied to a USB flash drive. There is no need to mount the file or do anything with it besides copy it to the USB flash drive. Your board also has the Internet Flash feature, which means the latest BIOS update file will be downloaded automatically, unzipped, and the BIOS update will be started automatically. That feature can be found in the Tools section of your BIOS. If Internet Flash does not work for you, then download and extract the BIOS file, and copy it to a USB flash drive. Connect the flash drive to a USB 2.0 port on your board's IO panel. Go into the BIOS and start the Instant Flash process in the Tools section. The link to your board in your post above is to the Windows 7 driver and utility program download page. No BIOS update files or anything related to BIOS updates on that page.
