I upgraded my motherboard to a  ASRock 170 Extreme7+. Booted into my existing Windows 7 installation with no problem. Had to install network and USB drivers and such but no big deal. Added two pairs of pair of RAID 1 data drives. One pair of drives don't shows up in Intel RST for RAID volume installation.
I have my system SSD on SATA3_0. My optical DVD drive is on SATA_3_2. The first RAID 1 pair is on SATA3_1 and SATA3_3. The second RAID 1 pair, which isn't visible in Intel RST, is on SATA3_A3 and SATA3_A4.

The SATA ports that start with an "A" are tied to the ASMedia controller and don't have RAID capability.  You'll need to move your second RAID pair to a set of Intel SATA ports.
