Hello Everyone !!!
This is my first post in this forums !   I might be a nobbie , but please help me out !!!

I just built my second PC last week, following is my config :
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Processor : i5 6500

Motherboard: ASROck Z170 Extreme 4
Bios : 2.80

RAM: GSkill RipJaws V (4x 4GB) 16GB DDR4 2400GHz Dual Channel Modules

HHD:
1. Samsung 750 EVO 120GB
2. WD 500 GB
3. Hitachi 500 GB

Windows: Windows 10 64 bit

SMPS: Corsair CX500

Case: NZXT S340 (White)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did a bootable pd with EFUI and GPT partition using some 3rd party software.

Following are the issues I'm facing (Highest priority issues are stated first)

1. When I turn on my PC I observe following symptoms
i.> It turns ON for 1 second (Lights and fan start spinning) and then immediately turns OFF, after 1          second it again turns On by itself , and then the ASROCK splash screen gets shown .
ii.> Sometimes it starts directly (without turning OFF and ON), but then after the initial POST splash screen, it just shows the ASROCK Logo and then stops there  (usually at this point there's a circle spinning below , windows loading) but that spinning (loading windows) circle doesn't come and it stops there forever ...  (In this state if I press Power Button, PC it immediately Turns Off).
iii.> Again after Restarting, it turn ON normally,  after POST it again shows ASRock logo with spinning circle and then Boots into windows within 5 seconds .

What might be causing these above issues ???   The Bios options are set by default, CSM is enabled, boot devices are Samsung EVO Windows Loader and Samsung EVO HDD something (This is the new GPT thingy I guess, because I did not had 2 partitions shown before on my AMD build), Anyways the windows loader is selected first and then the other partition from same drive.

2. There is no "Sleep" option in my shut down menu of my Windows 10 .   Also one more thing is that after inactivity of 10 minutes when the OS automatically puts monitor in STAND-BY mode, but in my case the display just becomes BLACK (the backlight and all is still on, usually it is supposed shows no signal or blue screen), it doesn't not turn off itself monitor's usually do when in StandBy mode   (I'm using BENQ GW2270, and connected it via HDMI cable).

3. The Following Drivers show Exclamation mark in Device Manager :
i.PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller
   ii.PCI Memory Controller
   iii.SM Bus Controller
I just installed the Intel ME Drivers, LAN Drivers from ASRock site for windows 10 64 bit .
Didn't installed the Audio drivers as it's the same 32 bit realteck software and consumes lot os boot time, and my Audio is playing fine with default Windows Drivers.
Also I haven't installed the Graphics drivers as everything is fine with default windows drivers, and I have heard that Intel HD 530 Drivers are causing Issues for many many people (Such as videos not playing properly, blue screen etc etc...

I didn't installed Rapid Storage Drivers as well ...  Are they needed ?? should I install them?

4. In Event Viewer> Administrative Events I see following Errors:

    i. Failed to schedule Software Protection service for re-start at 2016-03-01T16:48:20Z. Error Code: 0x80041318.
    ii.Metadata staging failed, result={00000000-0000-0000-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFF} for container '0x80070490'
   iii.Driver install failed, result=0x8007007E for devnode 'HID\VID_04D9&PID_A0AC&MI_02\7&159927D8&0&0000'
   iv.Driver install failed, result=0x8007007E for devnode 'USB\VID_04D9&PID_A0AC&MI_01\6&1399392E&0&0001'
    v.Driver install failed, result=0x8007007E for devnode 'SWD\PRINTENUM\PRINTQUEUES'
    vi.Driver install failed, result=0x8007007E for devnode 'ACPI\PNP0C02\4&1FACF205&0&5'

5. Once my Segate 500GB USB 3 External HDD got disconnected automatically after some time (Had connected it to front USB 3 Port), I read in many threads that users are facing this issue in case of USB3 HDD and not in case of Pen Drives .   IS the issue solved ?    (Also I saw that USB divers are missing in Windows 10 downloads and are present in Windows 8 downloads of ASRock Site....

Sorry for such a loooooong post, if there is any info I'm missing then do let me know !
Let's solve the issues one by one !

Regards,
Grace.

The first stop is clearing CMOS using http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=630&title=how-to-clear-cmos-via-battery-removal" rel="nofollow - this method. Post cycling is usually the result of corrupted/bad BIOS settings (like a bad overclock for example). If this does not resolve the boot issues you can try replacing the CMOS battery, a bad battery can also cause the data to be lost after power down and result in the board doing a self test then powering off and back on again.

Hi!
Was waiting for a moderators reply Big smile !

Did the CMOS clear thingy by removing the battery and VIOLA !   The POST cycling (or the False start as they call) is Resolved !!!!!!!!!

I was pretty tensed that I got a bad board (this is my second board, as previously I had took Asus B150 Pro Gaming AURA and it stopped working within an hour Ouch )  .
Don't know what caused the issue though since I had not changed any setting in Bios or Overclocked anything Confused  ...

Can you please Shed some light on other issues as well ???  (My First issue has been resolved Clap!)

Thank you again for you help !!!

Glad to be of help. Whenever putting together a new system the first step once it is done is to clear CMOS to make sure everything reinitializes and plays nice together. At one point many resellers would ship motherboards with the clear CMOS jumper in the clear position to avoid issues like the one you posted but that presented it's own set of problems so not many (if any) still do this.

Make sure you have installed the intel INF driver from http://asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z170%20Extreme4/index.us.asp?cat=Download&os=All" rel="nofollow - here .

IRST (rapid storage) is not strictly necessary though it can be useful.

Hiii!!!

Sorry for late reply ...

Almost all my issues have been resolved !!!!!!!!   INF Driver did solve the exclamation marks in control panel , and I guess installing the VGA (graphics Drivers) may also solve the "Sleep" Option not available Issue ...  But I'm still not installing them as many are reporting instability issues with HD 530 Graphics .. (I don't have a discrete graphics card yet) .

BUT ,
One more doubt I had to ask you , I'm using CUPID for measuring Temperature, And following are my temps :

Processor (i5 6500)  [Cooler Master 103 Air Cooler]
Min-28
Max-30

Motherboard (Z170 Extreme 4)
SYSTIN : Min-35   Max-35
CPUTIN : Min-36   Max-38
TMPIN   : Min-35   Max-37

(The Ambient Temperature in my Room is around 26 Degrees)

Is the Temperature of Motherboard above normal ???   Cause on my previous AMD Phenom 955BE build the Temperature of CPU was always greater than that of Motherboard ....

Thank you very much for your time and help !!!!

If you load your CPU (by running a game for example) while the monitoring app you will see your max CPU temp shoot up considerably. For idle/near idle temps those figures are perfectly normal for Skylake CPUs.

Wow!

So 35 degrees temperature for Motherboard is okay ....   Man these Skylake processors are really Ice Cool!!!!  Never ever I saw temps below 38 degrees on my Phenom 955 Black Edition !

I wanted to ask one more question !!!!

I'm using GSkill RipJaws V DDR4 2400 MHz Ram modules (4Gigs x 4 Modules, dual channel)

But the default frequency is 2133 Mhz ...   and 2400 Mhz frequency is stated in OverClock profile or something in the Bios ...

According to me OC is clocking over the stock frequency .... Then why is the defalut frequency just 2133 Mhz ???   Previously in DDR3 the max stock frequency of the Ram used to automatically get configured.
Why isn't it setting to stock frequency automatically ????

Is this same for all motherboards supporting DDR4 (default is 2133 and we to overclock it?) ???

DDR4 2133 is the maximum frequency as set by the memory controller on the CPU die. Anything over that frequency is technically an overclock. RAM is marketed as its highest rated XMP (eXtreme Memory Profile) setting. Now with DDR3 on earlier CPUs the maximum RAM speed was 1333 and later that moved to 1600. If a 1600 kit was installed on a board with a CPU that supported 1600 it would default to that frequency. I think that may be what is causing your confusion. Installing my DDR3 2800 kit in any board always requires me to set the XMP profile to get it to run at it's rated speed, if not it defaults to 1600 or 1333 depending on the memory controller on the installed CPU.

I hope this clears things up for you Wink
