Anyone else have a problem getting rid of an XMP profile in BIOS from ram you no longer have installed? I have tried resetting the BIOS, using the reset BIOS button on the mother board, I have removed the battery and hit the clear BIOS button and I have reloaded UEFI defaults all to no avail. The XMP profile for the old Kingston Ram that I no longer have installed keeps coming up in the BIOS as the XMP of choice. How do I get rid of these bad timings? (My new memory is Corsair with a completely different set of memory timings) Any advise is welcome, I left a message for tech support last week but haven't heard back from them... |

If you have done the following: https://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=630&title=how-to-clear-cmos-via-battery-removal Your BIOS should be reset completely to defaults (as in, physically impossible not to be). What XMP values are persisting? What are your specs? If the above link doesn't help, please provide this info so we can get an idea of what you are working with  -------------

Well I havent tried leaving the battery out for 10 minutes - I guess I'll try it. In the BIOS for memory setup there is a selection to load the XMP profile, when you select that the Kingston Ram XMP profile is listed (It even says Kingston in its specs) In fact the Kingston item is the only one showing up. |

I guess I'll have to try leaving the battery out for 4 hours or overnight and try again. Otherwise I have to believe it wrote those values into the firmware somewhere... |
