I want to update my BIOS so that I can use my new 4650G with it. However, as I put the 4650G in the motherboard, it doesn't work of course.
What does ASRock mean when they do not recommend updating the BIOS if you are going to run Pinnacle, Raven, or Summit Ridge CPU in which 2200G is a part of? Does updating BIOS to the latest would mean loss of support for the 2200G? If so, would it be possible to update the board using my 2200G? Or it would be bricked if I use 2200G to update my motherboard?

The new Agesa codes, don't always improve performance on older CPU, also your Raven Ridgem can be used to update the BIOS.?f certain CPU's, ar no longer supported under specific BIOS versions, this is always mentioned, in the description. Before updating the BIOS it would be best to take some precautions. First disconnect all hardware not necessary for updating, like graphics cardm USB cardreaders, Wifi and other cards. Reset the BIOS to defauklt settings with f9, and save with f10. After restart, switch thge system off, and see to it only 1 memory module is in Slot A2. Again start, into BIOS, then perform the BIOS uopdate via instant flash. Give the board some time after reflash, it can be it needs several attempts to completely boot. When a BIOS is bricked, the only option is to use a BIOS programmer, or contact ASRock support https://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp" rel="nofollow - https://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp Please always check your spam folder for repleis.
------------- Kind Regards

Thanks for your reply to the previous poster's question. I have a similar problem with an ASRock B450m PRO4. I want to update the processor from a Ryzen 2600 to a Ryzen 5600X. Current BIOS version is P 2.00; need at least version P 4.60 for 5600X.
If I understand your reply correctly, I should be able to do it.
My question is, should I update to version P4.60 and stop there (V2.00 -> V4.60), or can I update directly to the latest version (V2.00 -> V5.30)?
