Hi there,

I just purchased a Fatal1ty X99M Killer/3.1 board for use in a rather specialist system and I'm not clear about what my options are in regards to the available PCI-e lanes.

I know that on some boards, the use of an SSD in the M.2 slot reduces the number of available lanes or disables one of the slots entirely.  The only thing I have been able to find in regards to this board is that it disables two of the SATA connectors and the ESATA port.  So my first question is, does utilizing the M.2 slot have any impact on any of the three PCI-e connections at all?

Here are some of the components I will be using:

Intel Xeon E5-1650 v3 CPU (40 PCI-e lanes)

NVIDIA Quadro M4000 (PCI-e 3.0 x 16)
Blackmagic DeckLink 4K Pro (PCI-e 2.0 x8)
Samsung 950 PRo (PCI-e 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.1)

I would also like to utilize ASRock's Thunderbolt 2 AIC, which is a PCI-e 2.0 x 4 card.

Is it possible to use all of these simultaneously with the lanes available to me with the CPU and this board and with the Samsung M.2 SSD in use?  Is there a particular configuration I should be using (i.e., certain cards in specific slots)?

Any insight or assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks. :)
