Greetings,

Running Windows 10 with latest drivers all around including the ALC233 Realtek audio.   When I power on the machine and the Windows screen appears I get a loud thunk.    I have set the volume control on both the speakers and in Windows to medium low and still get a noticable 'thunk' noise.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Thank you.

It sounds more like a power or Windows issue.
Try to create a bootable USB stick, with Rufus, and put Ubuntu Linux on it.
Get into the bootmenu with f11, and start from the USB stick, you can run Ubuntu without installing it, and it is quite similar in use as Windows.
If you don't have this issue under Ubuntu, it is Windows related, if yiu have the same issue, it is hardware related, try testing it outside teh chassis, to elliminate mechanical causes.

Kind Regards
