Hi,

My machine suddenly stopped recognising the wireless adapter for the broadcom 802.11ac + BT module which comes with the motherboard. Bluetooth still works however. I have reinstalled drivers, updated the BIOS, and reseated the module to no avail.

Windows 7 64-bit
Asrock x99e-ITX/ac MB
Intel i7 5960x
32GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
512GB Samsung 950 PRO

Can anyone help?

Thank you

Regarding Windows 10, according to the X99E-ITX/AC manual, the WiFi-802.11ac + BT Module is not supported, only Windows 7, 8, and 8.1, sorry to say.

trentptbo, did you say the update to Win 10 itself caused it to stop working, or was it an update to Win 10 that caused it to stop working?

Windows 10 for some reason has caused some networking issues of different kinds. Even the Intel wired network chips/drivers, normally the standard for just working without intervention, has a few issues with it that remain unresolved months later, after five updates to their driver.

Technomorph, your system specs say Windows 7, is that still true?

The WiFi module provides support for both standard wireless connectivity, and Bluetooth, so if BT still works, then it seems the antenna, its connections, and the module itself are still working. Unless the 802.11ac portion of the module can fail and not affect BT, if that is applicable to the module's design.

When you say the WiFI module is not recognized, do you mean as a device in Device Manager? Or in Windows as a networking device in Network and Sharing Center as a Connection?

If BT still works, then there should be an entry in Device Manager for it. Does this module appear as a single entry or as two separate entries in Device Manager when both were working?

Can you recall if anything changed recently in your PC that might have caused this to happen? New hardware or software installed? Any Windows updates installed?
