Hi
parsec,
Thanks
for replying.
Answering
your questions:
1.
I'm using a Corsair H105 watercooler that has one 4 pin power connector for
fans and one 3 pin connector for pump.
The
4 pin fans connector is connected to CPU_FAN1 board header and the 3 pin pump connector
to CPU_FAN2 header.
2.
You're right, the setting that causes the issues I'm referring to is "CPU Fan
Type Setting", and not "CPU Fan1 Type", my fault. Problem only occurs when "CPU
Fan Type Setting" is set to 4 Pin, and only after PSU being off.
If
I don't switch the PSU off, both 4 Pin and Auto settings don't cause any
problems and PC posts and boots faultlessly.
My
PSU is connected to an APC Surge Protector/power strip, and also is connected
to this Surge Protector a Dell monitor, a cable fiber ONT, a router, and a
speaker system, so, after switching the PC off, I also switch the Surge
Protector off (for economy), and this way, every day the PC boots from a cold
state.
3.
With UEFI 2.50, after the "triple attempt to POST" occurrence, the PC boots
normally, and everything is OK.
With UEFI 3.00, after the "triple......." event,
PC goes to UEFI Main Menu and stays there until I go to Exit Screen and enter
Save Changes and Exit. After that the PC posts and boots normally into OS
(Windows 10 Pro).
4.
The Boot Failure Guard option is enabled, and I have never seen any message
related to it.
5.
With both 2.50 and 3.00 UEFIs, after the triple..... event, the watercooler fans
and pump are running normally: water cooler fans at approx. 950 rpm (silent
mode) and pump at approx. 1.600 rpm (standard mode).

Now,
after yours comments, I'm wondering if the issues I have are caused because CPU
Fan Type Setting perhaps controls both CPU Fan 1 and CPU Fan 2 Settings simultaneously, and when I set it to
4 Pin, it tries to control both CPU Fan 1, which is OK because the watercooler
fans are 4 pin type, and also CPU Fan 2, which is not OK, because the
watercooler pump that is connected to its header is of 3 pin type, causing bios
to be "confused" and arising the issues in a cold boot!
Anyway,
the issues I have are for a very specific config (CPU Fan Type Setting set to 4
Pin) and condition (after PSU being switched off), and hardly will affect most users,
as you have tested and didn't experience any misbehavior.
Even
me, I don't have any issues in the normal operation of PC and I could say the
Extreme7+ is a great board (and one of the few that we can set an NVMe raid0
array without a glitch!).
And
thank you very much for the comments about Support 4k native HDD, now I'm aware
that it has nothing to do with SSDs, and the actual need for a specific flash storage
based file system, now that SSDs are so popular.
I
will be waiting it impatiently (Microsoft?), since my PC only has SSDs for OS
and storage.
regards,
