Hello, built my first computer and the motherboard mentioned in the subject is what I chose. I am wanting to add a Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB into the M2_1 slot underneath the M.2 armor. Wanting to make sure that they are indeed compatible as the Samsung SSD has the correct form factor of M.2-2280. Thank you!

Dear cspongebob

M2_1 supports only PCI Express (NVME) M.2, M2_2 can support NVME, and also SATA M.2
However, when using M2_3, you loose 2 SATA ports
*M2_3 and SATA3_5_6 share lanes. If either one of them is in use, the other one will be disabled.
Any NVME m.2 should work, but rarely they have a compatibility issue.
The PCIE lanes come from the CPU.
I think this one should work fine, and when installing the OS, always connect only the device that you want your OS on
If you require help, use the support form and fill in the details
