Hey all.

Extreme 7.  Cant for the life of me find a simple answer to this question.

When an M.2 SSD is plugged into which slots, it disables what SATA ports?

Card in M.2 Slot 1 = Disables Sata ????
Card in M.2 Slot 2 = Disables Sata ????
Card in M.2 Slot 3 = Disables Sata ????

Thanks for any info!

Page 24 of the User Manual

These ten SATA3
connectors support SATA
data cables for internal
storage devices with up
to 6.0 Gb/s data transfer
rate. he SATA3_0,
SATA3_1 are shared with
the SATA_EXP0. he
SATA3_2, SATA3_3 are
shared with the SATA_
EXP1. he SATA3_4,
SATA3_5 are shared with
the SATA_EXP2.
To minimize the boot
time, use IntelĀ® Z170
SATA ports (SATA3_0)
for your bootable devices.

I went to page 8 and circled the ones that were related.  They could have done a graphic to make it much easier to figure out.

Awesome thanks!

They mention using Sata3_0 for SSD booting.  What about M.2 booting?  Would it be a huge difference between SATA_EXP0 or SATA_EXP2?
