Hi,
I have a problem with my X670E Taichi Carrara where it won't post whenever either of A* RAM slots are used and I can't figure out why it happens.
Setup: PSU: Corsair HX 1200 Motherboard: ASRock X670E Taichi Carrara CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X CPU cooler: Corsair H170i Elite Capellix RGB RAM: 2x16GB G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 6000MHz CL30 GPU: ASUS RX 580 8GB SSD: Samsung 980 1TB
Problem details: The PC won't post whenever RAM is in either A1 or A2 slots. The code is "15" for about 10-15 seconds, and then changes to "C5" error code. The PC boots if RAM sticks are in B1 and B2 slots. This ultimately prevents me from running RAM in Dual Channel.
What I did so far: - disabled EXPO - eyeballed CPU contacts (no scratches, discolorations or anything really) - eyeballed LGA socket pins (nothing out of order, at least according to my eyes) - used each RAM stick and checked slots one by one (A1, fail; A2, fail; B1 okay; B2 okay; A1 B1, fail; A2 B2, fail; A1 A2 fail; B1 B2 okay)
What I suspect: - CPU memory controller is damaged (doubt) - motherboard got damaged in transport (more likely)
Should I try to update the BIOS and try again or should I RMA the motherboard straight away?

Great news. I tried to update BIOS from 1.04 to 1.11 and now they both post and run EXPO!
I advise everyone who runs into similar issue to flash their BIOS to newest version.

Ugh. I'm having the same issue. I updated the bios to 1.11 and still won't register the RAM in A2.
Maybe I'll try A1 and B1 instead of A2 and B2.
