HI All - I am in the process of converting my disks from MBR to GPT. As part of that process, I need to ensure that I can boot into UEFI after that conversion. Of course, I will be disabling CSM to do this. But my issue is that right now the boot order in BIOS shows the #1 position as my Data disk (D: drive), while my boot partition is located on my C:drive. But even weirder is: my C:drive is not listed as one of the choices for the order of boot drives I can access. I also noticed that my D: drive model id in the boot position #`1 is prefixed with "ACHI". So, I am baffled as to how the BIOS is booting off the D:drive. Does anyone have a clue what is going on here?   Last, you should know that I boot into windows 10 now without any problems, so I am confused by what I see. How do I add new internal drives to boot options in BIOS? Thanks!

When Your drive is patitioned under MBR, it can only be found in the bootmenu. when CSM is enabled.
So leave the settings untouched, and use mbr2gpt, to convert, the change CSM to disabled.
When You connect only an M.2 before installing Windows, it will always have drive ID 0, when you in a later stage, also connect a SATA device, the SATA device suddenly will become ID 0, and the M.2 will become ID 1.
But when You have backed up all Your files, it is also possibl;e to do a clean install of Windows 11, using the same release (so home or pro)
Connect only the device where You want to install Windows onto, and wipe all partitions, and let Windows handle the partitioning.
When You connect to internet, the Windows 10 activation, stored in the Microsoft cloud, will be used to activate Windows 11 (that's why You must use the same release.
On Windows 11 Home, You must use a Microsoft account, and you data will be stord in the cloud, with Pro, You can also use a local account

-------------
Kind Regards
