Board model: B450M PRO4
BIOS version: 3.50
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 8GB (8GBx2) DDR4 running at 2133 Mhz
STORAGE: WD GREEN 240GB SSD: WIN 10 X64
STORAGE 2: WD BLUE 1 TB HDD

Hi,

The issue is that I bought the Crucial P3 1TB NVME SSD as a game storage for my system. installed it. But when I turn on the system, it's stuck at the motherboard logo screen. I cant access bios because the keyboard doesn't register any input.

But when I switch the NVME out, the system boots normally like before.

searching through the internet someone pointed out that maybe a bios update will solve the problem.

But Asrock recommends not to update BIOS for certain AMD processors and 3.50 is the max update.

Please advise what to do and thanks for any help in advance.

Hey, yeah i have the same issue a week ago but it got solved after updating the bios but in your case CPU seems to be old gen

as per Asrock site :

*ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if you are going to use Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU on your system.
*Before updating this BIOS, please also read the description in previous BIOS version

i had a Ryzen 5 3600 which is Matisse arch.

you can refer to this cheat sheet to see what arch. of your CPU is - https://www.pcgamer.com/heres-your-cheat-sheet-for-amds-zen-based-cpu-nomenclature/" rel="nofollow - https://www.pcgamer.com/heres-your-cheat-sheet-for-amds-zen-based-cpu-nomenclature/

i believe Ryzen 5 1600 is a Summit Ridge which is not recommend by Asrock on new Bios, i say not to update the bios with this CPU because it might not recognize your CPU after Bios update

My suggestion would be to update the CPU as well (if possible) with any newer version (Matisse or any new one) i.e after 3000 series to 5000 series
