Hi, I have gotten my machine running again with help of Xaltar after a Bios firmware update, but the Bios no longer has boot to USB as an option. I will post link to view the screen below. If anyone has any idea how it disappeared or how to bring it back I would love to hear it.
Thanks Rollo

While we cannot see all the choices you have in each Boot Option, such as by clicking on one of them that should produce a list of drives, are you saying you no longer see USB flash drives in the lists?

OK I checked, and when I click on either of the 3 boot option there is no hint of a USB boot. Screenshots below thanks Rollo

I have no idea what mother board you are using...
Did you have a USB flash drive in a USB port when you looked for it in the Boot order?
Sometimes if you are in the BIOS/UEFI, if you just then insert a USB flash drive, you may need to restart the PC before it will be recognized.
When you say, "USB boot", does that mean the USB flash drive appearing in the boot order?
Could you see the USB flash drive in the USB port with the System Browser tool?

You did it, Parsec! I had an occasional feeling that maybe I should plug a USB drive in while trying it, but since that wasn't necessary before I did the firmware update last week, I kept dismissing that as the problem. Thanks to everyone for your time and effort! The USB option is present now. Cheers, Rollo

I'm glad that worked for you.
But help me out, previously you would see an entry in the Boot order for a USB device(s) when none were connected to the PC?
I am not familiar with a separate USB Boot order or listing of USB boot devices that is somehow different than the standard Boot order list. Unless that was somehow a part of your board's Boot Manager option, if it has that feature.

to Parsec, Yes I would see about 4 boot options and one of them always contained a USB boot. I don't usually keep a USB plugged in so I doubt that during all the times I entered the BIOS setup area that I always had a USB plugged in. The MB is Asrock FM2A88M Extreme4+ /M/Altech P2.30 Cheers, Rollo
