How can I tell if correct drivers etc are installed for the USB 3.1 gen2 type c socket? Mine does not seem to be performing to gen2 specs/speeds? Anything needed to be done for it to operate at gen2 speeds? |

I have never seen drivers available for 3.1 gen2 in downloads for X399 Taichi so I have never used a specific driver for it. I am currently on Win11 with latest BIOS and AMD Chipset Drivers, when I transfer data from external 3.1 gen2 HDD/SSD enclosures everything works as expected, I can even connect them to gen1 ports and the transfer is at gen2 speed regardless using Type-C or Type-A. BUT when I connect my ProGrade Digital card reader directly to gen2 Type-C the transfer speed is just ridiculous, something is wrong. No problem when I connect it to gen1 Type-A. My advice is to connect your gen2 devices to gen1 ports (gen2 protocol is backwards compatible) and use Type-C only with properly working devices. In addition, you can always request technical support from ASRock.
