Hi. I need a suggestion about a good mobo (possibly with Z97 chipset) to overclock this CPU. I want a mobo that can use this CPU without a BIOS update. My budget is 80 euros.

Thanks in advance

For 80 Euro I would look at either the http://asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Pro3/index.us.asp" rel="nofollow - Z97 Pro3 or the http://asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Anniversary/index.us.asp" rel="nofollow - Z97 Anniversary  depending on availability and pricing in your region. The Pro3 will need to be BIOS version 1.30 or newer (you can check on the sticker on the BIOS chip) Most likely by now boards for sale will have at least that. The Anniversary supports the G3258 out of the box since it's release so no updates would be needed there. The Pro3 is better featured but the Anniversary is designed with the G3258 in mind so it comes down to your needs and pricing.

You'll need a Z97 board to over clock any compatible CPU, including the G3258. Over clocking is only supported on Intel 'Z' mother boards.

The G3258 will work in any Z97 board without a UEFI/BIOS update, but you must update to the UEFI version that supports over clocking the G3258 before you will be able to over clock it. If the board already has the UEFI version that supports over clocking the G3258 (or a newer version), then no UEFI update is necessary.
