Hi, I just purchased an X99 Extreme 6/3.1 MB.
Dr. Debug posts with Code 60.
I put the Quad Channel memory (that is supported - triple checked) in slots DDR4_A1, DDR4_B1, DDR4_C1, & DDR4_D1. CPU is also on supported CPU list. CPU is a Intel 5930-K (Socket 201-V3).
I have reseated, checked for bent pins, etc, the CPU/memory multiple times; cleared the CMOS each time. They're all in OK. I'm not removing them again as that's just inviting disaster. I'm now down to a single stick of 16G RAM as AsRock manual suggests while troubleshooting.
I've switched BIOSs from A to B and back again.
Each and every time the system shows error 60; except for when no RAM is present - then it displays error 53.
So, I've done all the troubleshooting procedures.
Then I noticed my BIOS stickers: They read "P1.00" - and that is it. I read somewhere that an update is required for this MB to support 2011-V3.
Where can I find information pertaining to supported CPU list vs BIOS version?

Welcome to the forums.
Your board is the /3.1 revision of the Extreme6, the CPU support list can be found http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/X99%20Extreme63.1/?cat=CPU" rel="nofollow - here . As you can see, your CPU is supported on all BIOS versions for this board.
There are very few 16gb modules supported by your board, could you please provide your RAM model number/brand. It is likely that you may need a BIOS update to support your RAM. If you have access to another lower capacity DDR4 RAM module I would suggest trying that. If you are able to post with it then you can go ahead and update your BIOS to version 1.20, this is the latest BIOS prior to Broadwell v4 support being added and I would advise against 3.00 on a non Broadwell setup, at least for the time being.

Given the model number you provided, you have memory that is listed in the Memory Support list.
You do NOT need a UEFI/BIOS update to support your processor. ONLY X99 mother boards can use processors with the 2011-v3 socket.
A UEFI update will be needed for the upcoming Broadwell-E HEDT processors, a different processor generation than your Haswell-E i7-5930K. That might be what you read about. If not, then what you read is just plain wrong.
Do not update to the Broadwell-E HEDT processor compatible UEFI version at this time. That version is 3.00. Not getting into the why not here.
You can update to the 1.20 version, if you can get into the UEFI and use Instant Flash.
Are you able to complete POST and get into the UEFI using one DIMM? If you can (I hope), try these settings in the UEFI:
In OC Tweaker, DRAM Configuration screen: At the bottom of this screen, find the MRC Fast Boot option, set it to Disabled. Also set the Memory Test option to Enabled. The Memory Power Savings Mode option can be Disabled. Keep all other memory settings on Auto or their default value. Do NOT enable the XMP profile. Allow the memory to run at its default speed of 2133.
In OC Tweaker, FIVR Configuration screen, set the System Agent Voltage Offset to +0.01V.
In OC Tweaker, Voltage Configuration screen, set the DRAM Voltage to 1.25V.
Increasing those two voltages may be necessary to allow all four DIMMs to be used at one time. DRAM Voltage can be safely increased to 1.3V. It would be worth checking what the DRAM voltage reading in H/W Monitor is, compared to the setting.
If you can do all this with one DIMM, save and exit the UEFI, go right back into the UEFI so you know the board will POST. Then shutdown the PC, remove power, and install one more DIMM, in slot DDR4_B1. It really does not matter which channel (A, B, C, D) to use, but use the #1 slot, B1, C1, etc.
Normally I would say clear the UEFI/BIOS, but in this case we want those UEFI options set as I listed above, which are not all default settings. So don't clear the UEFI.
Try to start the PC with two DIMMs now. If that works continue to three and four.
It is possible you have one (or more) bad DIMM. If you add a DIMM and the PC does not POST, remove the DIMM you just put in, mark it somehow as potentially bad, and try another DIMM from your set. Continue this process until you fail with a bad DIMM, or everything works.

Confirmed: I only need BIOS Version 1.20. I will NOT update to Version 3.00 at this time.
Why doesn't the board understand 16GB RAM Sticks yet?
As I am unable to POST yet I'm considering RMA'ing the board today. I find it unacceptable that I might have to purchase a smaller amount of RAM just to get the board to POST.

No, I am not. I've rotated each stick into the DDR4_A1 slot and retried. Each time Dr Debug reports error 60.
My brother recommended trying it in pairs, too, (as I've already rotated each RAM stick into DDR4_A1 at least once) and seeing if that worked. That's not per the manual but if it wont cause damage....
Apologies for the quick succession of posts. Didn't realize that the person's message one replies to is beneath the editor. Had I scrolled I could have put this all in one response. Live and learn. :)

Crucial 4GB Single DDR4 2133 MT/s (PC4-17000) CL15 SR x8 Unbuffered DIMM 288-Pin Desktop Memory CT4G4DFS8213
This RAM *is* on the supported memory list also. Is this RAM supported by BIOS version 1.0?
(Or am I just gambling now?)

Yes, that Crucial DDR4 memory will work! I've used it in my ASRock X99 Extreme6/3.1 board (I forgot to say I have this board too) with the 1.00 UEFI/BIOS version.
I combined a 4 x 4GB kit of this memory with a 2 x 4GB kit, and it works fine in this board. Combining kits is normally not recommended, because a memory manufacture can use different memory chips in the same model of memory, when they run out of one type. Crucial (Micron) makes their own memory chips, so that won't happen for a much longer time. I can OC it to 2666, which must be done manually, there is no XMP profile in this memory.
I don't know if you just want to get one DIMM/stick so you can get into the BIOS, or want to use eight of them in your board. I would trust any Crucial DDR4 memory they say is for X99 systems to work in our board.
I worries me that you cannot get that memory running when it is listed in the Memory Support list. I hope something else is not wrong, like bent pins in the CPU socket.
Kingston may have changed the memory chips in the model of memory you have, which might be different than the memory chips in the memory that ASRock tested. X99 was the first board to use DDR4. When Skylake and Intel 100 series chipset boards were released (that use DDR4), the memory controller in Skylake processors is not quite the same as it is in our Haswell-E processors. Kingston might have changed the memory chips in the memory model so it will work with Skylake systems, but that change is not right for X99. Just an idea.
We do not know that the board cannot run 16GB DIMMs, just from your experience. The method I described for you about trying to set the memory options is NOT a standard procedure from ASRock. It is a procedure that I thought of, and just makes sense.
Don't forget to clear the UEFI/BIOS if you try another kind of memory.

Good to know! Now I'm just worried about upgrading the BIOS to 1.2. Where can I get THAT version of BIOS for this board? The AsRock site? I only remember seeing P3.00.

I plan on using this 1 stick for long enough to update the BIOS to a more recent version; it's then going into the 'wasted money on computer parts' bin.

It worries me, too! The pins are not bent in either the CPU socket or the 8 memory slots. They're fine.

If they did then, IMHO, that is really bad engineering practice. Shouldn't they change the model number if they do that or at least create a new model of RAM for that?

If this board does NOT run 16GB DIMMs like the "Supported Memory" list on AsRock's site for this MB says then I am going to be one pissed off ex-customer of AsRock's. I spent a ton of money on 64GB RAM for this machine. I checked and double checked the supported memory list BEFORE buying the system. Same thing with CPU. I've got over $500 invested in this motherboard/RAM alone; add my CPU and I'm looking at ~$1100 (US). There's a lot riding on this for me.

I put in the Crucial 4GB CT4G4DFS8213 stick and the system boots fine; thereby proving there are no bent pins on the CPU. Everything seems as it should.
So, how am I to upload the P1.2 BIOS?
I created a FAT32 USB Drive and copied the P1.20 BIOS to it. Do I simply put it in the USB7 slot and reboot?
After browsing the BIOS information it seems I can also perform a network/internet update. Won't that install P3.00 instead? Something I've been cautioned against uploading on page 1 of this thread.

OK, I updated BIOS A to Version P1.20. I am now able to see and use my Kingston HyperX DDR4 2400 16GBx4 sticks. (Model HX424C15FBK4/64).
CPU is properly detected and features match up WRT BIOS settings. RAM is properly detected and working - I did NOT adjust voltage settings. MB is properly working, too.
Thank you to Parsec and company for the excellent help.
Dr Debug is reporting A6. That mean anything? (runs off to look up codes)

I imagine the system detected that no OS was installed. As soon as I restarted and began installing windows 7 the debug display went blank.
After windows is installed I'm installing a flavor of GNU/Linux.
