Dear all,

I own a Fatal1ty Z370 Professional Gaming i7 board and bought a Samsung 990 Pro NVME PCIe4. It looks like the NVME is not recognised which is a bad surprise as I trusted PCIe4 is compatible to PCIe3.
The BIOS version I have is 1.20.
Does it makes sense to upgrade the BIOS?

Thanks in advance for feedback.

Rgds

Hi,

Small chances that upgrade will fix your issue, bit go ahead, do it. I have Z390 with the most recent UEFI software (beta) and still facing NVME issues. IMHO this is PCIe 4.0 vs 3.0 compatibility problem - maybe on drive maybe on the motherboard.

Have look on my thread in similar case here: https://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=27310&PID=109089&#109089" rel="nofollow - https://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=27310&PID=109089𚨡

Upgrading the BIOS is a good step, as it often brings compatibility improvements. Ensure to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for the upgrade process. It might resolve the issue of your Samsung 990 Pro NVME PCIe4 not being recognized on your Fatal1ty Z370 board. Your NVME drive and the Fatal1ty Z370 Professional Gaming i7 board. Since PCIe4 NVME drives may not always be fully compatible with PCIe3 motherboards, updating the BIOS could potentially resolve this issues by https://apkero.net/" rel="nofollow - https://apkero.net/ . It's definitely worth trying, as BIOS updates often include compatibility improvements. Just ensure to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully when updating.
