Replacing a working Intel DG43GT Rig. Pulled out working drives into :
  • New Z97 Pro4
  • New Core i7 4790K 4GHz
  • New Crucial Ballistix 2x8GB DDR3 1600 1.5V CAS 9 9 9 24
  • New Thermaltake TR2 600W PSU
  • Samsung DVD BD Recorder

Setup fails on the following drives:
  • WD 30EZRX 3TB Sata HDD
  • OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD

Attempted installing from:
  • Windows 7 Ultimate Original Technet CD
  • Windows 7 Enterprise VLE Original Technet CD

Symptoms:
Could not get UEFI to install on 2794GB partition.
Setup on the HDD starts Windows 7 'file expansion'.
Blue screens @ 3% with error 0x0000005C.
Steps Taken- Cleaned the drive and changed to GPT
DVD UEFI option no longer visible!
Blue screen @ 40% with IRQ error
Steps taken-Turned off all non-critical BIOS features, removed all unnecesary peripherals.
Blue screen at 99% - Master Table error
Steps taken-
Used Windows 7 RAM test utility, 2 passes = OK
Attempted setup with SSD.
Loaded UEFI BIOS Defaults
Error prompt at 99%. Missing or corrupt lnk file. Setup completed, but freezes on Windows Title (no logo animation) upon 1st reboot.

Attempted pre-installing Win7 on the DG43GT rig
Turned off intel rig after Win7 setup scucceeds completing file expansion and reboots
Installed Win7 partially pre-installed drives in Z97 Asrock Rig
Windows 7 boots sucessfully and requests a reset to apply system updates
Next boot locks/freezes
Steps  taken: Dimms reordered, drom A2,B2  to  A1,B1 positions.
Last Known Good Config boots and allows login
Attempted installing Drivers disk contents in listed order: .Net Framework install shows several 'WCN error' popups
System locks up again 2 seconds after POST, before even animating the Windows Logo on boot

------------------EDIT:----------------------------
One final re-install attempt with the OCZ SSD. System goes through setup, and when booting to Win 7 for the 1st time, Blue Screens to 0x000000BE HIDCLASS.SYS (Attempt to write to a Read Only address).

I'm about to return this board.
Asrock, please let me know if there is something I might have missed.

BTW, attempted to use the UEFI BIOS Support Request utility.
"Unable to contact server" error on submit, plus frozen keyboard.
I could move the mouse pointer, buit could not click on any buttons.  Very disappointed on my 1st Asrock purchase.

While looking for the "processor # feature" , I just noticed an obscure "No Execution-Memory" option hidden away in the Advanced \CPU Config section.

Disabled that,  and it allowed Win7 setup to finish.  Much to my chagrin, installing any drivers afterwards will cause quick BSOD to flash, and baffling enough, either the SSD is no longer detected, or the asrock will freeze on boot! Shocked

BTW, I'm using original near 10 yr old Windows 7 install CDs, tested good in other systems, just today.
